This is just NATO standard to have 2.0% GDP invested in you military. The US is right to ask for that standard. Germany would've a army that can match Russia's military with 2.0% gdp. Russia wouldn't be Europe's most powerful army anymore. While Russia is wasting resources on their army, European army's are building up with the newest planes, air defences and HIMAR systems. Russia would've no way to beat the EU and the UK. They will lose all power in Europe. They wouldn't need the US for their defence against Russia.

@flopoz2575 You only need a few nukes to beat Russia. They've awful infrastructure. If you hit Moscow it's basically over. Russia would need all their nukes to defeat all of NATO.

@suportbghelp4938 The EU as a whole has acceptable debt levels under a 100%. Germany is far below average on debt to GDP in the EU. Don't mistake the US for the EU.
