@fokthewef It started when Putin tried to poison pro EU presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko in the Ukrainian election 2004. That seems like the pivotal moment in Ukraine moving without brakes to the west and a declaration of war everything Ukrainian or pro west by Russia. Imagine how pissed off Ukrainians must have been for Viktor Yanukovych to cut the EU deal after talks with Putin. Just talks at all with Putin must have torture to watch by Ukrainians. That's when the protests came and they called it the Euromaidan, not the maidan Putin said. I do believe he let the Euro out for a reason in his interview. The "coup" of Viktor Yanukovych that Putin talked about was a democratic vote in parliament after Viktor Yanukovych ordered to shoot protesters. 88 people died. NATO members have made mistakes for sure by saying Ukraine could join NATO eventually for sure. You need to understand that after 2004 asking to be part of NATO by Ukraine is because of oppression by the Russians.

@julwiezdeghorz5089 For lawmakers not to put it in writing is really dumb. After a cold war nonetheless. Now it's just a promise by a people who aren't in politics anymore. The Russians are solely to blame for that mistake. NATO can do everything they want and countries can join NATO freely.

@alstroemeria227again4 I don't know what you think a "coup" is, but it's not a democratic vote after a president orders to shoot protesters. 88 people died. Maybe by Russian standard this is a "coup". Putin also poisoned pro EU presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko during the Ukrainian election in 2004. After that Ukraine sought NATO membership, not before. That was the declaration of war on everything Ukrainian or pro west by Putin. Imagine how mad Ukrainians must have been when Putin killed the EU deal. That's when the Euromaidan started. Which Putin called Maidan in his interview, probably on purpose.

Only the dictators like Trump and Putin refused those.
