  1. Bakhmut is just a small city. Why would the west negotiate after Bakhmut? The Ukrainians took 50× the amount back already. I'm guessing Ukraine is gonna start a offensive toward Crimea soon. If you go down to Melitopol and hit the Crimean bridge to Russia you'll cut thousands of troops off from supply.
