Behind the scenes NATO is spending billion to create bigger army's while Russia are losing stockpile. A war is also expensive. Russian soldiers aren't fighting for free.

Higher taxes is better infrastructure. That's why in the 50s America could build so much and Europe has amazing infrastructure now. *American politians are far more corrupt.
