Comments by "Joey" (@Joey-ct8bm) on "EU defense spending boost is a monumental shift in modern thinking for all of Europe: Caruso-Cabrera" video.
We allocated already 200 billion for the future for Ukraine, but only financial support. That's on top of the 121 billion. Don't forget that of the 121 billion we had to restock ammo and buy weapons too from the US, so that was profit for the US. Nobody in US media ever talk about the profit the US weapons industry made from Europe. We spend on average a 100 billion a year on US weapons these last few years all together. Way more than the aid to Ukraine by the US. I'm very happy we get serious now in Europe about our own weapons production.

What do think this is? We in Europe were shocked by the minerals deal and then cutting off ammo. That could happen to all of us. The problem is that this will take time to build. All this money is just for European weapons and ammo production. It's highly complicated situation. We all have different weapons. There's like 9 different main battle tanks and 7 different fighter jets. This is why it's so difficult. Who gets the contracts you know. A federal Europe would be very hard to accomplish in Europe, but we could make a initial QRF EU force and use the same weapons. You can't put a French Rafale pilot in a Jask 39 Gripen E and expect him to take off or land it. They would need to be trained. QRF= Quick reaction Force.

The day that the EU became a superpower and the US empire fell.

That 500 billion of Germany is just for Germany and the EU money too. We are still very dependent on the US though. Won't happen overnight. My country the Netherlands only has US weapons in the airforce. Before that is replaced Trump his 4 years is up. We can buy the JASK 39 Gripen E, instead of the F35, but before they got enough it would take years.

You would need to pay more now for weapons production. We were buying 150 billion a year for US weapons and ammo. We hate your weapons industry more than you do in Europe. It was about damn time we started to produce weapons and ammo ourselves. Those JASK 39 Gripen E fighter jets from Zweden are even better than the F35 too. Those you can even take off on a highway with. You can just hide them in a forest and use a highway. Now that's a fighter jet.

People, Germany is famous for their frugal spending. They only have 60% debt. The 500 billion is also a defense infrastructure bill, so they get money back by not buying US weapons. They go fully independent. That is wat happens if you ask minerals and cut off ammo to Ukraine. This is the main talking point all over Europe. The US weapons production is gonna suffer, because manufacturing goes to Europe. Don't forget my country the Netherlands has ASML chiptechnology too. If we build our armies tech is the next thing we come for. This is why you do not mess with allies. Especially big ones like the EU. They even took away the vote of Orban to do this. Completely ignored Hungary, which you cannot do by law, but they did it.

The regulation on AI is data regulation. Why? We don't want to give Elon Musk our data. Let's keep it that way, even if we've to put nukes on Greenland for it. You all are crazy for letting Muskolini taking your data with DOGE.

NATO should've stopped the invasion by Russia in Georgia 2008.

That counts for you too. Last time i checked China has a bigger navy than the US.

@lexa9207 Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria cost us trillions. We were also fighting ISIS in Africa. I count that too, because ISIS existed after Iraq. Not forgetting the 22 million refugees we had to deal with since those wars.

Actually you need to spend more to keep your weapons production up. You do realize the US defense budget went up a 100 billion last December by support by republicans and democrats? It went through the republican house. You already pay more. We in Europe were buying over 150 billion worth of weapons and ammo a year from the US. You got to fill that gap now. In 2023 the US made 238 billion dollars by selling weapons and ammo to foreign nations. Mainly us in Europe. Only 40 billion of aid went to Ukraine in 2023. Every bullet we manufacture in Europe we don't have to buy from the US. * Didn't have the 2024 numbers, but since all our NATO budgets went up it would be higher than 150 billion. That stops now.
