Contrary to the impression being created by some Western apologists, migration is part of human experience down through the ages, and thus not exclusive to people from the territories previously colonized by Europe & the West. The effects of migration globally have been aggravated by the atrocities that the West has perpetrated against the rest of the world over the past five hundred years through the slave trade, colonialism and Neo-colonialism. Consequently, for the West to try to control migration from former colonial territories to its shores without addressing the factors that cause it, and whose origins it is largely responsible for, is to engage in a delusion at best, or in pathological hypocrisy at worst!!
