  2. There is a book called "Special Forces Berlin" that listed a US Army unit for stay behind forces among The Berlin Brigade in West Berlin. That Special Forces force actually became proficient in anti-terrorist warfare. That force became the backbone of Eagle Claw, the failed attempt to rescue American hostages in 1980.
