  2. This is GM hot-rodding a "Grandpa Car." in standard trim, this Caprice was a cloth interior and smaller V-8 going head on with The Crown Vic. The floaty ride was a requirement of big barges like The Caprice and the Crown Vic. This Impala is a cop car that you could buy. a Corvette V8, leather, and all the fun. The Impala seemed to have technology from a tractor. 260 HP/330 lb.-ft of torque were nice numbers in 1994 and you would be pretty quick. The best part about The Caprice is that you could work on it yourself. a proven and reliable platform.
