  2. I've seen this first hand in the North. A team of 30 people reduced to 4 in 6 months because a manager was bought in to tick the D E I box. When the next resignation came in, reducing the team to 3 (it was an area that was very difficult to recruit in and the roles usually had a 3 month notice period, so whilst new staff had been appointed, they were working out their notice periods) said manager quit, then made a complaint to the CEO in the South that the entire team had been racist. I quit when the few remaining people who'd been working 7 days a week, were told to make time to go to D E I training. It's ridiculous to promote someone into a position they can't do for the sake of ticking a box.

  5. 5:55 is this not an issue of poverty though? I've a family member whose school PE teacher had their performance observed by an Olympic trainer. At 12 years old, they wanted him to train in his field. His parents couldn't afford the training, both the recommended trainer and the fact it would entail travelling into the next county every week. The family member is still a professional in their sport but never made the Olympics. Poorer families face this issue everywhere.
