@lisastewart5885 battered woman syndromes. They think they’ll stop or make excuses for there behavior. Sometimes leaving seems easy but leaving an abusive relationship is a lot more complex especially with children and especially if he’s the bread giver and was the one working which was more commen back then. Woman stayed home and cared for there children while husbands worked and paid the bills. Divorce then was also frowned upon. I’m older so I know but as much as she coulda tried this was also the 1980’s
