Miri Ke it’s so sad most of Iraq’s models fled to the Kurdistan Region in the north where you can wear anything. And those who choose to stay in Baghdad or Basra live a life like Israa Al Obedia
31
MG Massey your crazy😂. Many women dress like this and many influencers like her are in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. There are many more freedoms for woman in the KRG. Women like Israa are rich TV stars. She has enough money to leave the country. The reason why she stays is to make a difference in society
9
Miri Ke yeah but Taras death made many scared. Of course many influencers still are in Baghdad just all as you see get constant threats by trolls on social media
5
Why not? It’s their country. And this is how most Iraqi celebrities dress. It is mostly in southern Iraqi Cities like Basra, Nassiryah, Hillah, and Samawah where women are extremely pressure when dressing. Sadly this ideology has even grown in Baghdad due to the US invasion bringing it in the capital
4
Shut up. Iraq is diverse you racist shit
4
Yes they are all alive and safe. You can check their Instagrams they’re all doing well!!!
4
K.G.G NEVER SWITCHED-UP she’s always alive. She’s living fine
4
Lilly Lil this is juhu All the rich people are here
3
Little by little it is getting better. Before the US invasion these conservatives in Iraq didn’t have the control over the people like they have now but as you can see their ideology doesn’t stop everyone!
2
There is no slavery in Iraq
2
Boshir Uddin yes it was
2
nayte way Women have a freedom of choice to wear whatever they want. It’s just in cities like Basra where there is no law does this happen. That’s why most women only dress like this but don’t take photos like these celebrities
2
Religion doesn’t dictate anyone’s life. It is your own faith that makes you decide to follow those rules.
2
Don’t worry all the celebrities in the video are safe! Check their Instagrams if you want:)))
1
Then they bring their own trash ideology😂
1
It was much more liberal. But the Kurdistan region in the north is also very secular. It is here in the documentary in federal Iraq where it is conservative

Kee-pyor Myndopen it’s her own house! Let her embrace herself
1
Kee-pyor Myndopen yeah I do😂. My grandma does. It’s very popular in the Middle East&South Asia. A lot of people like a self painting
1
Kee-pyor Myndopen yeah my my aunt’s family had a huge foyer painting in the entrance if her home . I don’t get why u find this so weird 😂
1
Kee-pyor Myndopen it’s in her foyer. Right next to her staircase and it’s vertically big. It’s not near a sofa
1
Jhony Utah it’s so sad most of Iraq’s models fled to the Kurdistan Region in the north where you can wear anything. And the most famous models Shimaa Qasim and Sarah Idan emigrated
1
MG Massey when did I make this about you? Racist I’m spreading awareness and all ur doing is talk trash
1
Nope Tara was a very wealthy women. She got constant death threats. She actually lived in relative Safely in Iraqi Kurdistan where women dress a lot more western. It was when Tara visited her home city of Baghdad is when she was killed
1
No the war ended in 2017 it’s been 3 years of relative safety in Iraq but as you can see in the video some parts of society are still conservative and violent
1
Mehrab Hossain not true 😂. Iraq has 2 governments the Kurdish government is much more stable. That’s why Models like Tara Fares lived in Erbil. Sadly many of the photo shoots happened in Baghdad and that’s what got Fares killed
1
War is largely over. It’s safe just many parts are conservative. And the Iranian militia have a big influence
1
In Northern Iraqi Cities like Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Dohuk many women dress this way. Even Tara Fares career was stationed in Erbil. It was when she was visiting the more conservative Baghdad(Her home city and the place this is filmed) that she was killed. Little by little and with time Iraq will become more accepting. Hopefully these Models can then live without that small fear of being in danger :(
