  2. I lived in Detroit for a short while. One time I walked into a black barbershop, everyone froze, including customers, and stared at me like I'm an alien. That was stressful. But it's funny looking back. I was probably the only non-black ever entering their shop. Haha...

  4. Racial relations actually worsened during the 8 years of Obama presidency. Now I wouldn't risk entering a black barbershop and having a potential BLM activist hold a knife near my throat. I got plenty of options where I live now ;-)

  5. Now I own a small company with 10 employees. In my hiring consideration these days, I stay away from those who are likely to demand a lot of safe space, or even request me to step down due to my privilege. After all, I'm running a competitive business not a college campus. So far there's been no racial stress in my company. Lucky me ;-)

  7. Just want to add a little explanation... In my barbershop experience years ago, I don't think what I experienced was hostility. They were just uncomfortable, curious, and didn't know how to react. But hey, everyone needs a haircut regardless of skin color. But today, due to heightened SJW movement and media coverage, I can no longer afford assuming every black I encounter is non-hostile, and risk my own safety by invading someone's safe space. Haircut is just a tiny thing in life, so I choose the barbershops I don't have to think about this.
