  1. Looks like Taliban taking over Afghanistan is happening sooner than expected. I'm afraid it will become the new incubator for global terrorism (imagine ISIS x 10). When that happens, the whole region will be destabilized. US may actually benefit if this new terrorism impacts China, Afghanistan's next door neighbor, more than US itself. But US needs to plug its porous southern border so we don't see 911 again.

  2. @Good Boy Right now Taliban is courting China, because it badly needs global recognition for its own legitimacy, and of course Chinese money. I'm eager to see how China works with Afghanistan, a country that defeated both Russia and US. But I like your analysis. Perhaps Chinese money can soften the sharp differences in religion and ideology between the two, and actually rebuild Afghanistan like you said.
