  1. Lex Luthor knows very well he can kill this Doomsday later. The Krypton engine left fragments of Kryptonite in the Indian Ocean, an enough amount. He knows Kryptonite can kill Doomsday, maybe a few cities in North America will be wiped out, but I doubt he doesn't have a backup plan if Doomsday killed Superman and is still alive.
