PBD and his goons need to get off the mentality used in the last century. The reasoning of Friedman is very true in the last century, but in his new era, his arguments have been absolutely disproved. China version of "capitalism" is radically different from what Friedman proposes. And the number of people that system lifted out of poverty is about 10 times the American system nanaged to do.

The example that Friedman gave during that interview really showcases his last century mentality and a total ignorance of world history before the 1850s. Necessary government regulation and guidance has always been presented during any act of economic activities. Even Einstein and Henry Ford. If there isn't a proper social program, Einstein wouldn't have been able to live, go to school, etc. Henry Ford wouldn't have been able to take a loan or start a business paying little tax. Every single achievement in human history is a combination between individual effort and environmental conditions. I mean, he had his time but he's proven wrong. No government at all means absolute anarchy. Human escaping poverty has nothing to do with "capitalism", it's because of technological breakthrough in fertilizer which makes food abundant, breakthrough in civil construction which makes cement and steel more easily producable. Breakthrough in medicine for example antibiotics. Human technology breakthroughs have happened long before capitalism.
