@douchebaggio2349 Do you ever consider the number of crimes that didn't happen because people were afraid of the police? Guess not. If no police makes you safer, go to a Brazilian slum dog, the police there is basically non-existent, you should be much safer there.

Go ahead, go to Africa, go to Columbia, go to these paradise, law enforcement there don't care, so there must be less crime, right? You go risk your life there first before you ask other people to risk theirs, okay. The only reason you're not killing each other is because there are consequences if you do so. This is basic logic, in a world where you can get away with anything, all people succumb to their primitive desire, this is not an assumption it's a fact, the people who went to the place of no law enforcement to test it usually do not return alive. The former territory of ISIS has no police, they must be safe, correct? Don't take my word for it, go live at those places, places where you can be raped and no law enforcement agencies shall care, those place are so safe that people are fleeing. A society without police is a society without law enforcement, without law enforcement, there is no law except the law of force, tribal war, if these philosophy talks are too complicated for you, watch the TV series "The Walking Dead", even Hollywood hypocrites know what happens without law and order.

Eternal Star @Eternal Star The point is not about whether having police shall eliminate all crime, the point is that it eliminate much more crime than compared to when there isn't any police darling. Whenever a guy who is mad at you and want to assault you, usually he would stop because he's afraid of being arrested, not because of some hidden nonsensical compassion. So get back to reality, pal. Civilians building up their own enforcement agency to enact their law is tribal warfare. Instead of having one unified police force with one clear code of conduct, you have territorial zones that enact different sort of laws the way they like, that's called chaos. It's much less dangerous in America than Colombia, that's why people from Columbia are fleeing to America. Whenever there's a person not punching your face off just because they can and they're angry, that's the police protecting you. 9 out of 10 cases, people stop act of aggression and violence due to fear of being caught, not "compassion". Wake up, pal, your proposed system is still policing, it's tribal policing, which is divisive and ineffective. It creates serious division within a nation. Seemingly you don't even understand what "police" means, wake up.

Whatever you have, there can be another group that has the same resource with a harmful intention going against you, good luck with that. Without a force with overwhelming power to utilize, what you have is just tribal warfare. You think you can defend yourself? You can not, not if the criminals get serious. Eternal Star Really? So the presence of the police force preventing a gangbanger from taking up arms and then enslave under the law of force isn't the police protecting you? Preventing people from committing crime, either through physical force or through mentally fear means protecting whoever that will be affected by the crime if it happens. That's also how a military force protects you. How do I say this, everyday you live a free person, you have already been protected by the law enforcement agency as well as the military. A car purpose is not to consume fuel, however the car has to consume fuel to deliver it's purpose. So the car does consume fuel anyway. Too confusing, darling? You're already living under the police's protection, be grateful. Militia groups do not work, because if you have your own militia group, nothing will stop a bigger militia group to enslave you. The police's, the military is the biggest militia group representing the country, the specific society. Eternal Star You still don't get it, do you. The reason people are not commiting crime is due to the presence of tbe police, idiot. Their presence alone represents the near certainty of punishment for criminals, that fear prevents much, much more crime than your little fantasy of "self defense" militia. Go back to school, kid. People can learn self defense and install proper home defense to further improve the protection that they've already got from the police. If you remove the police or law enforcement altogether, you can install a mine field around your home and you would still be taken down, because you'd be living a lawless state.
