@nunyabiznez6381 There are more than 200 sovereign nations in the world darling, and no, not nearly half of them changed to rail. The entire South East Asia section, Middle East, Russia, South America, Canada, they don't have high speed trains.
Answer: Not necessary, unprofitable and nobody really need use of them.
You think Americans are in desperate need to travel across states in a hurry? A few businessman going between states are not the same as the wish and need of dozens of millions of people who mostly live in self dependent community.
You can live your entire life having your business in just one state, that's how vast America is, and that's how wasteful your land usage is, it's stupidity but it's your choice.
