@jaidengabriel1675 Actually they didn't. If you think what China has been doing for the last few years has anything to do with trying to get some tech, you're wrong. They haven't been really trying. Because it's not profitable for them to do so. When they really try, that's when they sacrifice everything, even economic proficiency, and they don't do that. The only point of making semiconductor their own is to profit from those semiconductors, so if they sacrifice economic proficiency to make semiconductor, what is the point?

The guy has insanely little understanding of what he's talking about. He doesn't understand what GDP actually means, how it's measured and what it represents. He also doesn't understand basic function of economics. Come on, hombre. You give us Westerners a bad name.

Look, when the guy uses GDP in his graph, you know that he's a total noob. He has an extremely shallow understanding of economics. He thinks an apple that is sold for 7$ worth 7 times an apple that is sold for 1$ Dude just said Chinese "exports" are actively reduced, and of course he measure exports in dollars and as % of GDP. This isn't the 1990s anymore, catch up with the time. If you don't know why that is insane, you need to study basic economics again.

He's also totally false and spreading disrespectful propaganda. You know, us sane people have a higher standard.

For the idiots who don't understand how technologies work. You can't sanction a country that doesn't really need you. China doesn't need the world, the need China. China have absorbed enough intelligence from the globe to be able to create the product itself inside the countries if needs be. Whether it's "advanced" semi conductor or whatever it is, even nuclear weapons or advanced weaponry. They don't import not because they can't create, they import because it's not commercially competitive to make their own. They can make their own if you force their hands. Don't confuse the decision of not making things due to inefficient economics result vs the inability to make things. In dire situations, the people of China will work for free and crush the competitors, it's just not dire enough now.
