@THX..1138 Wrong again, little kid. Ukraine did not declare independence from USSR, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia declared the dissolution of the USSR. Correct, the agreement never stated that any country has the ownership of Soviet former weapons. But it was implied that the weapons must be returned to Russia. Cause if it's not returned to Russia, Russia will just invade Ukraine to get it back, it's their weapons. Russians made those weapons for the USSR. Even if Ukraine has the missiles, they're not going to be able to launch it. Because the military there is of the USSR army, so really more of a Russian army. Of your version of weapon ownership is stealing it outright. I suggest you get a better story.

@THX..1138 The dissolution of the Soviet Union came way before Gorbachev resignation, pal. That's when the Belavezha Accords happened. And again, you can't just declare independence and then take over weapons stored their by other countries. That's just insane.

@THX..1138 That's not how it works, pal. USSR is a union, member countries contributed their assets to the union. No countries can claim single possession of every USSR asset except the ones that they provide. And sadly in the case of Nuclear weapons, it's exclusively Russian researchers, Russian technology. Russian Republic existed far before Russian Federation, pal. The claim to Soviet nuclear weapons is to the Russian Republic, the RSFR, which later becomes the Russian Federation and inherit the claim of the RSFR. Go study real history, pal. The current Russian Government is the heir to the previous Russian Government that dictates the Soviet Union entirely. Pretending that Ukraine is anything more than just a oversized satellite nation is just delusional.

@THX..1138 It's more of a trivial parting gift. They can keep those planes, they just can't keep the nukes, that's proprietary technology. And again, those ships build in Ukraine, paid for by the central Soviet Government. There are things that are allowed to be kept, call it "for old-time sake". you can keep the statue, you can keep a ship, you can keep a plane. You can keep majority of the technology the Russian gave you because you're a member of the USSR, that's the Russian generosity, maybe. But You're not going to keep a nuclear arsenal, that's the limit. Keep it real and get back to reality, pal.
