My thought as well.

To me it looks like a beaver lodge. Maybe my perceptions are colored by watching a lot of Post10 videos?

Strange and complex designs in a country known for tofu dreg construction? No thanks. I'd be sure to stay at least 1.5 times the building height away, just in case.

In that first building collapse, I know I was looking at mid-quality images, but I saw no internal reinforcement of the broken slab. Here in the US, I have met a few people who grumble a little bit about building codes, and a lot more about having to idle a job waiting for an inspector, but they all realize that the codes and inspections have good reasons for being. - So, we don't have gods floating three feet over our heads here, but we do have lawyers hiding in the tall grass waiting to pounce.

Having seen about a half dozen videos on tofu dreg, the issue is a lot less the engineering margins and a lot more the construction cheats and shortcuts. A high-rise building's floors using unbroken empty liquor bottles as fill to reduce the amount of concrete needed. Concrete being made with dust instead of gravel. Concrete reinforcements being made of brittle iron that can be easily broken by hand, even when nearly an inch and a half in diameter. Concrete reinforcements made of bamboo or other natural fibrous material. Dirt compaction under structure being done for layers too thick to properly compact. or not being compacted at all. Roads and sidewalks being paved as thinly as possible to save money on concrete or asphalt. Concrete not containing enough cement, or being over-watered to help it flow, or having too much calcium carbonate added to help it cure faster. - So much wrong done to let subcontractors afford the necessary bribes and kickbacks and still turn a modicum of profit.

What they showed could make one nostalgic for the brutalist architecture style from the 1950's
