  1. In that first building collapse, I know I was looking at mid-quality images, but I saw no internal reinforcement of the broken slab. Here in the US, I have met a few people who grumble a little bit about building codes, and a lot more about having to idle a job waiting for an inspector, but they all realize that the codes and inspections have good reasons for being. - So, we don't have gods floating three feet over our heads here, but we do have lawyers hiding in the tall grass waiting to pounce.
