Send two heavily armed and armored guys to do what a phone call could. Makes cop-sense.

What about the fact that she is TikToking in uniform, in her issued vehicle, and possibly while on the clock? That is theft of public funds.
14
I forget which comedian said it, but it was something like, "Why do they call themselves "neo"-Nazis? They hate black and brown people, they hate jews, they hate gays... they're just Nazis!" - And why aren't the cops yelling at them to keep their hands out of their pockets? Oh, right, they're white.
13
Holy *****!!! No ambulance called, no EMTs, no cervical collar, no backboard... Were they TRYING To kill him?
13
And if that passage is a matter of context, perhaps someone supporting the book ought to be well versed (pun!) enough to be able to explain that instead of falling into stammering and ad hominem.
11
Had to throw in "that's a lawful order!" didn't he. Cops learn how to use the right phrases to cover their butts, but not how to actually HELP people or to actually know the laws.
11
Quiet quitting is not about "doing the minimum", it's about not doing more than you're being paid for. No more doing paperwork and making customer calls from home off the clock. No more "stay a half hour after clocking out".
10
The idea of "pro-lifers" stocking up on firearms to kill people with makes sense once you look a bit closely. And I mean, it makes sense when you see who these people are, and where their position stems from. A place of hate and control.
10
I agree. An 8-day suspension was uncalled for. An 8-year suspension of his license to act as a cop would have been a better outcome.
8
To paraphrase Captain Kirk, 'What does God need with a P.R. firm?"
7
What we see here, are the tears of the American Crocodile pouring from the eyes of a privileged white human.
6
We ought to tell these Republicans that ensuring subsidized (or free!) contraception and abortions to non-white Americans will help delay the "White Replacement" that they seem so damned afraid of.
6
Your foil helmet may be too tight there.
6
"It could look like a weapon." Step away from the donuts, officer Lardass and step a bit closer to the laws you are supposed to enforce. - And the first officer continually asking "Do you want me to put you in handcuffs?" - Is that her kink? - Cops seem to think that because they had to climb out of their climate controlled, computer-filled safe space on wheels, that justifies their demands for ID. F them.
6
Shane Porter It was on school property, using school facilities. Time to tax the BLEEP out of that "church"!
5
He very well could have died in their "care". Damn, I knew at the age of 12 that you don't move a person with a possible neck or back injury until you immobilize their neck and spine. I learned that from watching "Emergency!" back in the 1970's.
5
OMG! The way the first cop backed up a step upon hearing Arabic(?). I'm still laughing.
5
My only concern with this student loan forgiveness program is that it does not address the root cause of student debt. Easy access to loans. Easy access to student loans prompted colleges and universities to raise their prices many, many times the rate of inflation because they KNEW that the government would still help people get loans to pay for it. So what if that money went to new buildings when the previous ones were still enough. Or sports stadiums. Or pay raises for the top administrators. Or massive ad campaigns. Or elaborate landscaping. Or...
5
Oh come on. A kid in school is safe as churches! Wait, I meant safe as black churches in Mississippi in the 1950's...
5
Why the BLEEP do cops get to have their faces blurred in FOIA'ed body camera footage?
5
These Republicans really working hard to groom kids into the hate cult.
5
It would have been funny as [redacted] if someone jumped in her car and stole it while she was 'Karening'. - AND she runs a stop sign?
5
Heck yeah! Risk a charge for attempted vehicular homicide!
5
I don't care on tiny bit about the boots being white. Though, if he had even a little bit of a brain, he would have had a lacky dirty the boots for him. Maybe he was too busy with his internal mantra, "Don't throw paper towels. Don't throw paper towels. Don't throw paper towels."
4
Complete the comparison. Nail him to some wooden beams!
4
Dude was compensating for a tiny "something" I'd bet.
4
They'll refuse to believe he is dead. He will be seen at gas stations in the US South, in casinos in Las Vegas, at campgrounds near the Great Lakes, and drifting through the early morning mists on Florida golf courses. Adherents will find his face in their toast, in stains on office building windows, and found in tomato slices. Then will come the rumors of his return on some randomly chosen "important day".
4
The more of this type of police interaction I watch, the more and more I have difficulty controlling the urge to get in the headlines. For... actions.
4
What a bunch of morons. They could make better shields out of saucer sleds, at least those are bigger. Or make four to six from a 4' x 8' sheet of 5/8" plywood. And using moving trucks to transport people? Morons again, but I guess they were at least smart enough to not use their own vehicles and risk getting identified by a DAVID check.
4
"I could ask a scientist, but I won't." That says it all.
4
Ah yes, the famous "Use an open hand, and the bruises won't show up fast enough to be in the booking photos" police technique.
4
I, for one, am SICK of all these people having access to sanitary flush toilets when an outhouse was good enough for my grandparents! And what is up with people surviving simple infections because of antibiotics? Back when my parents were young, people died from a gamy cut, and it was good enough for them! And kids these days with their internet! When I was their age, if I wanted to know something, I had to go to the library! *A library is a building where you could read and borrow books. Books are webs pages printed on dead trees.
4
Cop steps up to dental inspection distance, declares, "Back up!" Yep, this one is a moron, what else do you have, Chief? - And did C. Thor never learn the difference between letters and numbers?
4
I watch this and have multiple urges to hand out throat punches to these thugs. No wonder they always wait until they have at least three gun-toters before they try to encounter a person.
4
Yeah, the butcher was leaning on the scale when they printed that label.
4
Hey anti-maskers! If a store made a policy that you could only shop there if you wear a pink shirt, then they are legally allowed to trespass and bar you from the store, with the aid of the police, for wearing a blue shirt. Banks (other than right now with the pandemic measures) can legally bar you if you DON'T take off your hat and face covering. Movie theaters can bar and trespass you for bringing in your own food or being audibly disruptive. - It's because they are private businesses.

So, the 17% being seen as 50/50 was from an NPR interview on June 30th, 2013. I could find no link to a study by the Geena Davis Institute regarding that quote. Actually, I could find no link to ANYBODY'S study for that quote. After half an hour of massaging search terms and diving deep into boring papers. I am not saying the numbers are not real, just that I find no supporting scientific study. - Also, people who generalize by gender are all idiots. Did you see what I did there? - Side note: Why are so many TikToks out of synch regarding sound and video?
4
Oh. That's a simple spelling error. We have free dumbs. I am related to one.
4
Wearing a clown wig? Well, they do say you should dress for the job you want. But threating a DQ? It has Q in the name, it's the secret meeting place of his "people"! (Plus, why mess with DQ? The food is delicious!)
4
Pete G, projecting your buried(?) proclivities is not a valid argument against Constitutional rights.
4
If I was paid what she is for talking out of my ass, I would have paid off OTHER peoples' student loans after clearing mine.
4
Shane Porter As a former unwilling (being then a minor) member of a few various religious in the "God and Jesus" grouping, I do equate spreading religion and spreading feces. Both demonstrate a profound lack of respect for people who don't want what you're spreading. Both are hard to forget the negative impacts of. Though at least religion is not a carrier for e. coli and dysentery. Just prejudice and hatred.
3
And since that era, the two major political parties have almost exactly swapped ends of the political spectrum.
3
I'd ask for equal access for my Jedi temple. Then a spaghetti dinner for my Pastafarian friends, and then a nice hour of not bothering anyone as observation of my atheist tenets.
3
Without the New Testament, you're more Jewish than Christian.
3
@briendoyle3823 Why thank you for noticing! I am wearing the latest in atheist footwear. (It's just normal footwear, but on an atheist.)
3
I went to a flowing streams "church" once. It was a wall of urinals at a concert venue...
3
The copsplaining officer in the "driveway" incident won't even look at the person he's talking to. That is a clue that he is likely full of [redacted].
3
We call is gas, short for gasoline. You call it petrol... short for petroleum? Petroleum is often used the term for an entire array of distillation fractions extracted from crude petroleum. Things from kerosene to gasoline to diesel to lubricants to road tar. - Tell me again who is right?
3
If you actually tallied assets versus liabilities, it is possible someone with $100 might be able to buy Orange Julius Caesar four times over.
