  2.  @morninglift1253  You don't hear a lot of Italians calling themselves and friends kikes. Or Chinese people using chink, or Spanish speakers using spic, or Irish using mick, or... So I agree. If you don't want others to use the word, maybe stop using it yourself, and it will fade.

  3. You're thinking small. HUMANITY is racist. Sure there are a lot of people who don't act on their thoughts, and maybe even a tiny fraction of a percent who actually have no racism at all in their mind (though some of that count may have to include people in a persistent vegetative coma), but humans are racist. We are also tribal, sectarian, and applicants of numerous other ways to define others in an "us" and "them" manner.

  11. If he was amenable to buying solar from a door-to-door salesman, the salesman's accidental use of the word probably saved him from a regretful purchase. If you want to install solar, do your research on the technology, the regulations in your state and area, the fitness of your property for solar, the prices, the tax breaks, possible subsidies, and the companies doing installs in your area. Then YOU initiate contact with your chosen company(ies).

  12. I have said "Heil Hitler" more than a couple of times, when discussing early 20th century European history and in that context it is acceptable. But Pasta help me if I EVER say "THE N WORD" even when quoting someone that apparently "gets to" say it. All because I happen to not be black.
