  1. I've never experienced engine-rich exhaust, but I have encountered an engine-rich oil pan on my 1970 VW Beetle. Funny thing, with all the metal ring chunks in the oil pan, the engine still ran fine. A friend who had several owned by family members told me, "Yeah, all those broken parts in the oil pan is normal."
