Never cook Brussels sprouts. Not in a microwave, on the stove, in the oven, over an open fire. Just feed them to a pig and eat the porkchops later.

@davidconner-shover51 My mother boiled and steamed a lot of foods. She also overcooked a lot of foods. I was in my thirties when I found out that scallops were not 'gristly'. I still don't like the flavor, but at least now I know what flavor I don't like!

I was thinking about this basic idea two weeks ago. My 2009 (2011?) Model # MW1119W microwave died in the most INTERESTING way. It refused to stop running if the door was closed. Timer says 0? Bzzzzz. I press stop and get the confirmation tone? Bzzzzz. So I had to unplug it. It was warning me it was headed to failure, because if I microwaved for more than 3 or 4 minutes, it tripped the breaker. - Anywho, I go to get a new microwave, and find one the same internal size. It is a little smaller external, but in every other way, including the EXACT button layout and functions, it is identical to the old one, and the new one is from a (supposedly) different company. The old one was an Emerson, and the new one is a Hamilton Beach.
