  1. The throwaway at the beginning about candle wicks was all new to me, and very enjoyable, then I see there is most of a half hour remaining! Yeah!

I used to have a (edit: cold-blast style) hurricane lantern for camping, but as soon as I got it, I converted the tank to hold a battery compartment, and had a short coil of LED bulbs in the dome. Other than the benefits of not using oil, and not having to worry about a hot lantern, I also got to choose a color. I went with half white, half green. If I rebuilt it today, I would use a strip of color-changing LEDs with a controller circuit.
