Supreme confidence because its was a small crocodile xD. If it was a alpha crocodile, he would kill all lions there lol
Look at a alpha crocodile, the difference of size and say me that a Lion have a chance against that monster.

@Amirus >what is an alpha crocodile

>They hunt by dragging their prey underwater and then twisting it until they can swallow big pieces.
U dont know nothing about crocodiles, lol. You already heard about "death roll"? When crocodile bite the prey, they roll on ground or water. The roll literaly dismember the prey in seconds. If a crocodile, even a small one, bite a lion, the lion will be dimembered for sure. A alpha crocodile can kill the strongest lion without any problem.

@peacebewu You are right, I completely understand your point and agree with that. i cant prof because I wasnt expecting to see something like that, its something who happens fast and you can just watch for a few seconds.
But man, come on, a adult crocodile have
more than a ton with a armor in his back, its just
physically impossible for a big cat kill something like that, also very risk. Predators avoid risk confrontations, thats why that small crocodile from video was just watching, thats why the lions doesnt triyed to hunt him. Its not worth get injured on nature.
People are speaking like lions(or others big cats) can just jump and instakill a crocodile, but its not the truth. lions dont even look for big crocodiles, jags dont even look for big caimans, and youll never see a big cat confrontating a predator bigger than him, but its normal to see teenager crocodiles confrontating lions, that video in one exemple. Imagine a crocodile with his 6~7 meters and 1,5 ton, like Gustave?

your nightmare >I speak about alpha croc
>I explain that we only have footage of teenager crocs and explain why
>"IT DOES NOT SUPPORT UR ARGUMENT"
Jesus christ.
"Since crocodiles are solitary hunters, the Nile crocodile is the only predator in Africa known to attack full-grown buffaloes alone, compared to the preferred pride attack method of lions." - Notling, M. (2013) African Safari Journal and Field Guide.
"Nile crocodiles on occasion prey on big cats including lions and leopards."
Check sources (cant post link here, the coment dont show):
Kingdon, J.; Happold, D.; Butynski, T.; Hoffmann, M.; Happold, M. & Kalina, J. (2013). Mammals of Africa. 1. A&C Black.
Mills, M. G. L. & Biggs, H. C. (1993). "Prey apportionment and related ecological relationships between large carnivores in Kruger National Park". Symposia of the Zoological Society of London. 65: 253–268.
"In general, big cats and crocodiles have a relationship of mutual avoidance. Occasionally, if regular food becomes scarce, both lions and the crocodile will steal kills on land from each other and, depending on size, will be dominant over one another."
Do you understand what it means? Lions will ONLY confront smaller crocodiles, they'll never face a big croc, thats why they AVOID the places where big crocs are.
If even with that you keep ur
beliefs, you are a real brainlet.

@Great-Dao-of-Elegance And how lions supposed to kill a croc and why there's not a SINGLE report in the entire history of a lion killing a big crocodile? I study that subject for most than 10 years, since I was a kid, I read books, scientific articles, many videos, and NONE OF THEM speak or show a lion killing big crocs, or even trying to face one directly. Most of reports dont measure the crocodile size, or measure a small/medium sized crocdile.
I dont have doubt that a lion can kill a teenager crocodile, and a pride can kill a medium sized crocodile (if farway from water and with tons of effort), but most of times lions avoid medium sized crocodiles, and dont EVEN DARE to face the bigger ones, because they know that a big crocodile can destroy any of them, they are felines, they arent dumb, they can measure the danger.
When we do that comparasions, we should compare both animals in its full potential, not in subjective variables like a "alpha exceptional lion vs a teenager croc" or a "Gustave vs a old weak lion". We should compare something like "Gustave vs the strongest lion", its a fair comparasion, and the strongest lion whould never have a single chance against gustave or any croc next to that size.
In subjective variables, even my dog can kill a lion or a crocodile.
