@punkgrl325 There are problems with the existing social programs that need improving but that's a bunch of hogwash to imply they don't help people! I am not on welfare but I know people that are and they said they will NOT give up housing assistance, food stamps, other cash like programs for a thousand dollars a month. No doubt some would but it's pure speculation for Yang to estimate how many if any people actually would.

@randolph1917 I haven't listened to Jimmy Dore lately to know if he has changed on it but when I did Yang had NOT won Jimmy over just because he had Yang on his show. Now you didn't exactly say he had but when you said Sam and Mike are scared to be won over some people could think that is what you were saying.

And one thing is for sure whether someone agrees with all of Bernie's policies or not they know the man will do what he says! He has a consistent record to prove that so people don't have to worry about him cutting any existing benefits unlike someone that comes out of nowhere that we have no idea if their real intentions is to get rid of existing social programs or not! For sure I do not believe the House and Senate will pass BOTH UBI AND Medicare for all! I also don't believe they would even pass UBI without eliminating social programs.

@meiamymei And one thing is for sure whether someone agrees with Bernie's policies or not they know as consistent as Bernie has been for years that he will do what he says so we can know for sure he would not do anything to cut any of the social programs! Unlike, someone that comes out of nowhere that people just trust what he says. There is no way I believe the House and Senate would pass BOTH UBI AND Medicare for all. I don't even believe they would pass UBI without eliminating existing social programs. Now, others can say they don't believe the House and Senate would pass Bernie's policies but one thing is for sure Bernie won't sign anything that comes across his desk that would cut any social programs! While at the same time he is trying to pass policies that would expand them.

@mapsandjunk8036 And other channels out there don't have a political bias that they are for Yang? LOL
2
@mapsandjunk8036 And you think Yang isn't speculating on how many will opt out of existing social programs that he says will help pay for UBI? LOL I am not on welfare but I know people that are and they said they will NOT give up their housing assistance, food stamps, transportation, and other cash like programs for the UBI. No doubt some people will but it's pure speculation for Yang to imply how many will. Also, you can not know if Yang's real intentions is to eliminate the existing social programs or not! I can't know that he will and you can't know that he won't!!
2
@punkgrl325 Are you saying people that paid into it for years longer shouldn't get a higher amount in their social security checks?
2
Yes, he has given an answer on UBI. You just weren't listening or didn't agree to his answer and one thing is for sure Bernie would not sign any bill that would cut or eliminate any social programs!

@adampowers5307 I gave a chance for you all to know the truth before implying something dishonest! Bernie's answer to UBI question: "I have a better idea and the better idea I think is that in a nation in which there is so much work to be done just think about it, you've got an infrastructure which is crumbling we can put millions of people to work doing that transforming our energy system in terms of weatherizing homes all over this country building a more efficient energy transportation system putting more money into wind and solar and other sustainable technologies. We can create millions of jobs doing that..." "There is an enormous amount of work to be done and what we believe in is guaranteeing a job in this country to anybody who is prepared to work. I think that is the better approach okay"

@lucaswilliams8572 I don't have to go read anything! I heard him answer it and gave you that chance to know he did before you continue to make like he didn't answer it. @lucaswilliams8572 And you don't think what I quoted Bernie having said is verifiable? You said and I quote "Bernie still hasn’t answered constituent legitimate questions on ubi... " I told you he has answered it and I don't care about redit! I care about hearing him answer it and I did! If you were trying to be honest in your OP you would had said he answered it in a Town Hall but didn't on redit even though I don't care to check redit when I heard him answer it!!
1
@lucaswilliams8572 I understand but your OP implies he hasn't answered it at all. You don't even mention redit in your OP.
1
@adampowers5307 Because I replied to the part that he hadn't answered the question! And because you did not even give a source (link) to what you claim he said and I'm not going to go look it up!
1
@lucaswilliams8572 The intent of your comment is exactly what it said implying Bernie hadn't answered it period. Now, you can defend yourself all day long but not having mentioned redit in your OP clearly implies Bernie hasn't answered the question at all. You made your points clear and I have mine! Now, people can judge for their self if they think you were purposely trying to say Bernie hadn't answered anyone's questions on UBI or not. I'm sure Yang supporters will agree with you. I'm done replying to you so you can have the last word LOL For me to reply anymore would be just saying the same things again lol
1
@lucaswilliams8572 Ok, I said I was done LOL but I will answer your question. Not to be rude but people that don't know you can't know what your intent is or isn't. The only thing we can go by is what is posted or said. A lot of candidate's supporters (and I don't mean just you) will take words out of context that a candidate says or even out right lie and say a candidate didn't say something they did or say they said something they didn't. If that was not your intent then maybe you can just try going forward to make your posts more clear such as you wish Bernie would had replied on redit but even then while I haven't used redit in years there is so many different places there who is to say if someone didn't reply at one place on redit that they didn't on another.
1
@lucaswilliams8572 And let me give you an example of some of my posts. There is a question that I have yet to see Yang point blank answer and when I have made that comment I try to always remember to add to that same comment of mine "or at least if he has answered it I haven't seen it".
1
@lucaswilliams8572 And it doesn't mean I can't change my mind, either! If you could care less that people think you are intentionally posting something incorrect keep on posting whatever you want! Your explanation didn't tell me that it wasn't your intent! Just because you said it was not your intent doesn't mean I believe you. I shall not read anymore of your replies to me in this thread so I won't be nice enough next time to come back to answer your question!

@1MarkKeller I am all for improving existing social programs! While I'm not on welfare I know people who are and who are on SSI and the ones that didn't pay anything into social security it's not bad considering everything else they can get like housing assistance, energy assistance, transportation, food stamps, other cash like programs and while I don't know if every state automatically attaches Medicaid with SSI, I do know for the ones that get that, too, that's a heck of a big benefit considering the costs of health care!
1
oktopustrainer That's incorrect that someone has to forfeit "all" of their assets! People on SSI are allowed to have any priced home and one any priced car. That sure don't sound like they have to forfeit all of their assets! Also they are allowed to have a certain amount of cash depending on how many are in their family. That's not bad considering they didn't work long enough to get those benefits. Also, not sure about all states but for people getting SSI that also have Medicaid attached to it that's a pretty HUGE benefit to have considering the high costs of health care.
