  8.  @MrHarpguitarist  You accused me of making an incorrect statement that was not incorrect, why should I continue any discussions with you? NO, they don't have the choice of KEEPING THEIR Welfare assistance AND getting UBI so that is not a choice THEY can make! Raising the min wage is suppose to help people that are WORKING, duh! Not stay at home moms or the unemployed. There are other programs for that. As for the VAT even Yang has acknowledged there are problems to be solved with a VAT. You trust Yang to solve those problems, fine, don't expect everyone else to. I've done research in addition to not trusting Yang, his policies are not the best solutions, period. CORE CONCLUSIONS CHAPTER NINE Taking account of the evidence and arguments set out above, we come to the following conclusions. ▪ Making cash payments to individuals to increase their purchasing power in a market economy is not a viable route to solving problems caused or exacerbated by neoliberal market economics. ▪ There is no evidence that any version of UBI can be affordable, inclusive, sufficient and sustainable at the same time. ▪ There is no evidence that UBI will help to increase the bargaining power of workers and trade unions, or solve problems of low pay and precarious work. ▪ Rapidly changing labour markets, inadequate welfare systems, poverty, inequality and powerlessness are complex problems that call for complex changes on many levels: there is no “silver bullet” of the kind that UBI is often claimed to be. ▪ The campaign for UBI threatens to divert political energies – as well as funds – from more important causes. ▪ It is necessary and possible to raise funds to bring greater security, opportunity and power to all people, but the money needed to pay for an adequate UBI scheme would better spent on reforming social protection systems, and building more and better quality public services. ▪ Many (although not all) proponents of UBI see it as a means to fix problems that unions care about. Thus the UBI debate creates important opportunities for unions to advocate for quality public services, progressive labour and welfare reform. ▪ However, unions should be careful when intervening in these debates that they do not unnecessarily alienate those proponents of UBI who are potential allies. 144 references are mentioned at the end of this report! http://www.world-psi.org/sites/default/files/documents/research/en_ubi_full_report_2019.pdf UBI debate..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFVr7Ku0KQk&feature=youtu.be By the way it is the progressive that is AGAINST UBI while the conservative some say he's Libertarian is the one for UBI.

  9.  @MrHarpguitarist  You idiot that was Yang's talking point not mine LOL He is the one that has it written at his website there are problems to be solved with the VAT. DIRECTLY FROM HIS WEBSITE: "PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED Corporations move money around to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. The burden of paying for social services falls disproportionately on those who earn the least. The Freedom Dividend should be funded by those who benefit most from the structure and work of society." Like I said you trust him to solve those problems, fine, don't expect everyone else to! I've already showed a lot of research while you have showed nothing! 144 references went into that UBI report I posted take your arguments with them AND the over 200 economists that signed a petition to raise the fed min wage to $15 that Yang is against AND the over 200 economists that are for BERNIE'S Medicare for all Bill and there's more people below you can take your arguments up with because I'm done now with you! I have done research to back what I've said. All you have done is go by your opinions. Universal Education, Universal Health care, Federal Job Guarantee that completes the safety net instead of endangering it is what I am for! If you want to debate that's not better than UBI you can always try to take that up with Pavlina Tcherneva Associate Professor of Economics that is for the things I just mentioned. https://www.pavlina-tcherneva.net/job-guarantee-faq Also National Job Guarantee by Professor Stephanie Kelton at the Sanders Institute - March 2018 And has been chief economist in the US Senate Budget Committee! "Economist at Duke University William and another economist from the New School Eric Hamilton relentless champions for a Federal Job Guarantee for so many years and they were finally recognized by Politico this year as one of the Politico 50 so one of the 50 people who are most having an impact on the political discourse so that was a pretty big deal in terms of getting that kind of on the National Stage but more recently Kevin Hassett who is the current Presdent of the Council of Economic Advisers made comments that what he believes that what he believes we need is a New Deal..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoMamSmsAIM "...You either don't understand what these things are or you do understand and you rather I don't..." Dr. Fadhel Kaboub (Associate Professor of Economics) on The Green New Deal, Federal Job Guarantee and Federal Financing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sMcDhIv0pI Also over 200 economists that have signed a petition to raise the min wage to $15. Then there is the over 200 economists that are for BERNIE'S Medicare for all bill. And please don't tell me economists support Yang's UBI unless you can give me a direct link to a economist that supports YANG'S EXACT SAME VERSION OF UBI. Nixon supported UBI BUT WITH A WORK REQUIREMENT and only for couples with children but too many Yang supporter conveniently leave that out. They are not the same version! Why a Job Guarantee is Superior to UBI in Every Conceivable Way https://steemit.com/job/@smithwillsuffice/why-a-job-guarantee-is-superior-to-ubi-in-every-conceivable-way Kelton VS Santens/ UBI Snake Oil VS MMT Federal Job Guarantee https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAn6DPcR0cQ There is no way BOTH Ubi and Medicare for all would pass both the House and Senate and we need Medicare for all more! Dave Rubin Accidentally EXPOSES Yang's UBI As Libertarian Trojan Horse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is2VWliq7Jg&t=3s When Yang was asked Why not just blow the safety net part, etc and then Yang says over time, "just wouldn't do it all at once." Spin it or interpret it however you want but Yang did not push back on what Rubin said, Yang didn't say that was not how he would do it but Yang was saying he would eliminate the safety net which would hurt the poorest people more than UBI helps them! And we need Medicare for all MORE than we need UBI and no way both would pass. Yang even has at his website about Friedman so what about Friedman? Yang has there about Friedman wanting to replace welfare programs with UBI. Wonder why Yang has that there? I am aware there are other interviews with Yang saying he wouldn't eliminate the safety net. I guess with all of his flip flops you will just have to decide which Yang in which interview you want to trust/believe. Debunk: Arguments Against The Green New Deal (TMBS 101) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZDCQbyod24 Around 5:33 in the video "For me it panders to the lowest conceivable denominator it's another candidate saying here I'm going to hand you some money it's buying votes it's look I'm going to give you some money and now you're going to be able to solve this problem..." "...we're gonna solve this by throwing money at individuals who will then hopefully spend it in such a way that magically all of the social problems are overcome..." Talking about Bernie's solutions....Around 14:15 into the video "You can go even further those kinds of structural changes even one of them would be worth a hell of a lot more than a thousand bucks so that you know you can get the idea across you are going for a much bigger prize when you go after these other issues..." End of Wolff's quotes What do you think Universal means (UBI) according to Jared Bernstein; "Take resources from people that need it and give it to people that don't need it." "The idea that automation has been killing jobs has been around forever." "UBI squanders resources on people that don't need it...a dollar you give to people that don't need it is a dollar that people that need it don't get." 10.  @MrHarpguitarist  You sure don't mind misquoting someone, do you? I never said economists don't support UBI but what I did say is tell me if one supports Yang's VERSION of UBI because there are different versions of UBI and unless they have directly endorsed Yang you can not honestly say they support HIS version! I will be happy to look at your sources if you tell me they are economists that endorse Yang's VERSION of UBI otherwise very disingenuous! As some economists support UBI under certain conditions such as with a FJG or others that would have it but not stack on any social programs or even as Nixon proposed UBI with a WORK REQUIREMENT and only for couples with children so that's dishonest to imply Nixon would be for Yang's version! So, if I am going to take time to look at your sources I need to know they endorse YANG AND HIS VERSION!? Otherwise I won't waste my time. The economists I quoted have endorsed BERNIE'S Medicare for all bill and over the over 200 economists that signed the petition for raising the fed min wage to $15 is the same as Bernie wants to raise it to. If the economists you posted are not supporting Yang's version of UBI it would be the same as if I quoted economists that were for raising the min wage but didn't give a dollar amount the same as Bernie's OR if I gave economists that were for Medicare but wanted to keep private insurance for those that wanted it but I imply they would be for Bernie's universal healthcare. They need to be for the same versions!

  12.  @MrHarpguitarist  You said there are economists that support UBI as if to imply they are supporting Yang and his version? Are there any? Engineering and technology is great but I will take economists opinions over that when it comes to running an entire country. Just as soon as you are able to prove that detailed recent UBI REPORT WITH BOTH PROS AND CONS with 144 references (I'm not one of them) going into that report is not accurate, I said prove, then tell me what UBI would do since that report clearly shows it won't do what Yang and you supporters are saying! Oh, now you go off on fear mongering on automation! It's here yes, but not like Yang says it is. I know research that doesn't show Yang is right you are not interested in but just to show I have researched that, too, and again this is not my quotes or my sites! I just agree with them.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kRFRIiBUDA https://mises.org/wire/why-robots-wont-cause-mass-unemployment https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dr-gridlock/wp/2018/03/19/uber-halts-autonomous-vehicle-testing-after-a-pedestrian-is-struck/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.ee58ac24a543 https://theshopmag.com/news/consumer-watchdog-calls-national-moratorium-driverless-car-testing https://futurism.com/new-york-taxi-drivers-call-for-a-50-year-ban/ https://www.fastcompany.com/90324427/not-so-fast-driverless-cars-will-change-everything-but-not-anytime-soon https://mises.org/wire/scaremongers-are-wrong-about-robots-and-ai "The idea that the robots are coming and taking away all of the jobs is laughable who works in manufacturing at the moment anyway most of those robots are taking those jobs what they've already taken they've gone already for the most part and of course people are doing different jobs and even if a robot could look after me if I'm still here when I'm 90 years old I don't want a robot looking after me when I'm 90 years old I want a human being to interact with me and with all of the jobs will always be there." 15.  @MrHarpguitarist  From what I heard Bernie only said he would look into UBI. He never ran on it so how could he flip on it? LOL Just because someone looks into something doesn't mean they will end up for it. I never heard Bernie say he was for it but feel free to send me the video of him if he ever said he was actually for it, not thinking about it or looking into it because if he didn't say he was for it then he didn't flip! A lot of people look into a candidate's record or lack of record. Looking into it does not mean they supported the candidate they were looking into. Yang ACTUALLY said there was a cap on age but flipped. ACTUALLY said people on SSA would not get both that and UBI but then he flipped. He actually did not push back on Rubin saying why not blow up the safety net but then in other interviews said he wouldn't eliminate the safety net. He said he was for Medicare for all but then said people could keep their private insurance if they wanted it and that is not Medicare for all. Those are actual changes, flip flops, from what Yang actually is running on. Friedman was the worst you could had given to me for an example and I already knew that because it's at Yang's website. Friedman wanted to replace welfare assistance with UBI and I would never be for that and if Bernie ran on that he would lose my support! Considering all the research I've done and when I do research it is on both sides even though I don't look into every source on both sides that exists I feel like what i have is more than creditable and yes, I do take the economists over the references you gave all things considered. I haven't checked out for anything more recent on the raising the fed min wage but even though that's 3 years old? I would think they could withdraw that petition if they are no longer for that. According to that full UBI very detailed report that had BOTH THE PROS and the cons with 144 references and all of the other research I've done Yang's UBI proposal is not better than Bernie's. And that's not all of my research, either, but it's enough to back up why I don't support Yang along with him not having a political record on the issues that are most important to me.

  16.  @MrHarpguitarist  Now, who is doing long messages? LOL Or several short messages to equal a long one. I did listen to the video, The first clip Bernie said something about it raises the question on UBI. Definitely no commitment there! The second one of Bernie, how quickly Bernie got cut off after saying, I do! I have gone to great lengths to have entire quotes that I have given when Yang was saying something I disagreed with on interviews! So, if someone disagreed with my interpretation of what Yang said, it would not look like I purposely left out something someone would take differently than me. For all I know after Bernie said, I do, he could had said BUT and gave a reason why not now or he doesn't think that is the best policy to have. I mean I have no idea what Bernie said after that? Not good to quickly cut someone off like that. So without knowing the rest of what Bernie said, I will just stick with he hasn't ran on UBI for Senator or President. I followed him very closely during the last primary and heard all of the debate. He never said he was running on UBI so he hasn't flipped on any issues that he is running on! Warren has been wishy washy on Medicare for all and other parts of her record I don't agree with. I would argue in this country I do not support the insurance industry making millions or is it billions off of sick and dying people! In other countries they have had universal health care for so long that I doubt their insurance companies ever profited off of sick and dying people the way this country has! Right now very few doctors take Medicaid and not all take Medicare. It would be the same with Medicare for all we might not get the doctor we want if they don't accept Medicare. If we had Medicare for all then doctors would have to take that or no longer be a doctor! While Bernie acknowledges automation he doesn't fear monger on it. He gives solutions to offset the impact like what has been done for decades. As for why I am not for replacing existing social and welfare programs to keep this from being longer this person in this video that tells why I agree with him! I know I was long but it could had been longer LOL I'm sure you won't like this video but it answers the question you asked me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzoFfmIDGqY

  18.  @MrHarpguitarist I listened to all of the debate so I don't need that. I had already done research on automation and my apologies if I already posted this. I didn't have time to go back to see but after this I am done here because I have so many replies I have replied to until I am forgetting who I said what to LOL I think we have both made at least most of our points.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kRFRIiBUDA https://mises.org/wire/why-robots-wont-cause-mass-unemployment https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dr-gridlock/wp/2018/03/19/uber-halts-autonomous-vehicle-testing-after-a-pedestrian-is-struck/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.ee58ac24a543 https://theshopmag.com/news/consumer-watchdog-calls-national-moratorium-driverless-car-testing https://futurism.com/new-york-taxi-drivers-call-for-a-50-year-ban/ https://www.fastcompany.com/90324427/not-so-fast-driverless-cars-will-change-everything-but-not-anytime-soon https://mises.org/wire/scaremongers-are-wrong-about-robots-and-ai "The idea that the robots are coming and taking away all of the jobs is laughable who works in manufacturing at the moment anyway most of those robots are taking those jobs what they've already taken they've gone already for the most part and of course people are doing different jobs and even if a robot could look after me if I'm still here when I'm 90 years old I don't want a robot looking after me when I'm 90 years old I want a human being to interact with me and with all of the jobs will always be there." Jared Bernstein quote https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/2018-09-07/automation-really-blame-lost-manufacturing-jobs “From an economic perspective . . . there can be no revival of American manufacturing, because there has been no collapse. Because of automation, there are far fewer jobs in factories.” "Yet this view reflects a misreading of the data. As I discuss in a recent paper, although automation is occurring in manufacturing, as it is in other sectors of the economy, the evidence does not support the idea that automation was the main cause of the sudden decline in manufacturing employment after 2000. Although it’s difficult to precisely pin down what was to blame, a large body of research suggests that economists and pundits are wrong to so quickly dismiss trade and to blame machines." Peace out.
