@Brown-Penguin I totally agree with what you wrote! They go through a long training process to do what they do. They don't need to go through all of that again for another situation which most likely would be totally confusing for them when they should just be enjoying life with what already makes them happy.

My 14 1/2 old fur baby that I've had since she was 3 months old recently passed and you are so right!! What we would give for another day and for them to still be able to play, too. I would never let someone that abandoned their pet when they got old have another pet ever again.
16
@Rain-xn9xg Oh. wow, your fur baby lived to be 23. While that was great them living that long, it's just as sad when we lose them no matter what age they are. It's never easy when they leave us. Hasn't been that long for you, either. I am so sorry! I hope you have another fur baby? None take the place of the ones we lose but each has a special forever place in our hearts. I don't have another yet but I know I won't stop crying over the loss of mine until I have another to focus on loving and caring for. Our home is pretty sad right now.

People would rather judge what they don't know than to be happy for the dog being home.
4
When your dog goes without seeing you for 19 months then tell me how she acts the first time she would see you again! Right! I hope you don't have to find out, either.
4
How about saving your critical comments for animal abusers and thieves that steal pets! It was no big deal her saying that!
3
I am so sorry about your fur baby :( Dogs should be on a leash at all times when outside the home. Even in fenced in yards they can jump the fence or dig out so need to keep an eye on them then, too.
3
If you can't feed your puppy or any other pet you find them a good home or take them to a shelter. They shouldn't be abandoned which is the case so many of Takis and Viktor's animals they rescued have been abandoned, and/or abused. Also other pets other rescues rescue. There is no understanding from me on anyone that would abandoned or abuse their pets!

Ok, am I understanding this video correctly that the same dog that was alleged stolen was reunited with their owner and the SAME dog got loose again? Before being found a second time? I won't judge the first time without facts but when the same dog goes missing a second time then IMO that owner is not responsible and doesn't love his fur baby as much as he or she claims to? Keep your dogs on a leash when outside the home! It only takes once for them to get run over or stolen! If it takes twice you learned nothing the first time! Even in fenced in yards you have to keep an eye out on your pets because they can jump the fence or dig out or someone steal them. It happens!
2
I'm not knocking micro chips but people that steal dogs have been known to cut them out :( Other people that find dogs or cats some of them never take the pet to be scanned. And of course if a dog or cat runs off and gets hit a micro chip won't help. Best to keep your fur babies inside and when outside on a leash or watched in a fenced in yard.

@Zachidoodah1 So sorry about your fur baby, too. They sure leave those of us that really love them, heartbroken.
2
@Rain-xn9xg Oh my, that is a lot to lose so close together 😥😥😥 That is awesome you and your family rescues abused cats. I would put every person in jail that would abuse any animal and they would never had another again! My best friend years back before she moved away from my area she took in cats. She was the cat person. I was the dog person and we were so thankful for all those people that help either of them because they both deserve loving caring homes as does all other pets. Snakes is about the only thing I have no love for LOL Thanks for your kind words, too! They think I am nuts when they come to bush hog behind our home when I tell them to watch out for the rabbits. One indicated that he wouldn't take the time for that so we didn't hire him!
2
@lockergr That's really nice you do that but also if there is a rescue in your area call them if you see a stray cat or dog as some of them will go rescue them. Make sure it's a no kill shelter. "Hope For Paws" has youtube videos and they do some incredible rescues.
1
@lockergr That is really sad to hear. Are you in the US? There are a few rescues that will go rescue them but not enough! If you are in the US look up "Hope For Paws" and see if they are close to your area since they go rescue dogs and cats or if they know someone close to you that will.

Sounds to me like you are doing a lot of speculating, a lot of judging without any proof. Some shelters don't allow pets. Why not direct your criticism to them? And to real animal abusers!

How can people love their fur babies when they were young and not STILL love them when they are old? Do they not know how lucky they were to have a fur baby still alive and that can still play at that age!! What I would give for my fur baby that passed recently to had still been able to play, still be with me! People that would abandon their pets because they got old should never have any pets to start with.
1
Those people that think cute little puppies came into this world already knowing how to obey needs to do a bit of research before deciding to get one! Just like babies and toddlers have to learn so do puppies and ONLY people with the love AND patience to teach them should get them. Just the same as with some toddlers some puppies will be harder to train than others. They all have different personalities but the love they give makes it more than worthwhile the time it takes for us to train them. Love AND patience!

I'm a dog person but I wouldn't want any animals abused. I love them all.
1
I love seeing people that have this kind of patience with dogs and other pets. I love seeing people arrested that would abuse animals or humans. Always keep your pets on a leash or a fenced in yard (when they are not inside) and even then must keep an eye out on them because some dogs jump fences or digs out. There are awful people that go inside homes and fenced in yards to steal animals. Only takes once for them to get hit by a car or stolen.
1
I hope their yard is totally fenced in or letting the dog run loose like that they could lose the dog again!
1
I would want to get to my dog right away, too, but don't think I'd call someone stupid that had just brought my dog back to me.
1
HOW ABOUT SHELTERS THAT DON'T ALLOW PEOPLE TO TAKE THEIR PETS WITH THEM THERE? CHARGE THEM, TOO! And where's your proof this person left the dog with no food or water? Do you know how they were separated? Sounds like you must know more than what the video showed?
1
I didn't dislike the video but I can imagine some would because of letting a dog drink out of a toilet! If there isn't germs there's been cleaners and well, no one should have to be told to not let pets drink out of toilets! Would you drink out of a toilet?
1
@slaterchest7153 And Leja R you both could be right. It's why I wrote "am I understanding this video correctly" just in case I wasn't. I am very passionate about keeping fur babies as safe as possible which includes on a leash outside the home or in a securely fenced in yard. Too many dogs even those that are well behaved when off a leash something suddenly scares them where they run off and get lost, hit by a vehicle, or stolen. I know sometimes it can't be helped but IMO more times it could be helped than not. I SAW my neighbor's beautiful dog get hit by a car ON PURPOSE after she accidentally got out of their fenced in yard. I HEARD her SCREAM before dying seconds later. I loved that dog as much as if she were my own. I will never forget that it upset me so much.

It usually takes a minute for the dogs to really realize that is their owner and then they are so happy jumping with joy literally to have found their owners again.
1
I wouldn't be so quick to judge! I mean it is possible his girlfriend had told him she wanted another dog. But for sure everyone is different if they want another right away or not so I do hope he knew she did. I had a dog that her death was so traumatic I didn't think I would ever want another one and before she passed I had not gone one day without a dog in something like 30 years but two years later my love for dogs made me give in and get another. I also had a dog that after she passed I knew I wouldn't stop crying if I didn't get another one to focus on loving and caring for! Not to take her place no dog could do that but each dog I've had has their own special forever place in my heart so I had lots of room for another place in my heart for another dog. Just depends on the person. No right or wrong of it. It's how they feel about having another pet.
1
@mrchew6347 I can't believe you compared getting another dog to getting another ice cream cone. SMH Yes, that sounded bad.
1
@mrchew6347 For dog owners that have lots of love to give another dog it's not replacing a dog. If that were the case they would get rid of it while the dog was alive and get another one. You shouldn't compare a live, living breathing person or pet with something else. But regardless it's not how YOU look at it unless it's something for YOURSELF. It's how each individual looks at it for THEIR SELF.
1
@mrchew6347 Now you are getting just plain rude and mean! I have had fur babies for 45 years and NONE were ever forgotten. I am beginning to think that is how it is with YOU that you forget your fur babies if you ever had any and they meant nothing to you because if they did you would know that there are lots of pets that are NEVER forgotten no matter how many someone has. Only those that abused and/or neglect their pets would ever forget them.
1
@mrchew6347 I can't relate to someone that is just wrong! It's not a matter of just disagreeing with an opinion but fact is you are just wrong to think that applies to everyone replacing and forgetting their pets.
1
I didn't dislike this video but the most responsible pet owners will NOT let their pets drink out of a toilet!! Would you drink out of a toilet?
1
If a dog is being forced to to it then it is indeed cruel. I am pretty set in my ways of not judging others unless I KNOW they are being abusive or being a fake at something. I watch a lot of Crufts and it really looks like some of those dogs love doing those tricks including walking on two legs. I know i trained my dog with treats! Never a mean voice and never hitting or forcing the dog in a certain position. She would be disqualified for barking LOL but I don't force her to not bark, either, considering that is how they communicate. I know Crufts talks about training with treats and a clicker so hopefully they would never allow someone to enter a dog that had been trained with cruel methods! There is no way I can know for sure the dog in the video being abused is the same dog that is walking on two legs. There are dogs that look the same but if that is the same person then they should be charged with animal abuse and the dog taken!
1
The people that would down vote this must be the same kind of people that would abandon their pets when they got old or who knows maybe even abandon their own parents when they got old! SMH What many of us would give to have our dogs live that long and still be able to play, too, but even if they were not able to play just to still have them.
1
I think anytime a pet has been through any ordeal whether almost drowning or found after a tornado, or fire or found after missing for any reason the dog should ALWAYS be checked by a vet. So thankful for the rescue but if it had been me I wouldn't had waited for the fire department I would had jumped in and even if I could only hang on to him until the firefighter arrived i would had done that.

Someone really loves their dog to realize what their dog needs or any pet and then to take the time to do whatever it is 💖🐶🦴👍

@patpeters6331 I THINK they mentioned a friend of Takis that is the Dentist. Not sure without listening again.
1
@patpeters6331 Thanks! I see where I got it wrong in this video where it reads "The Dentist whose best friend..... I thought it was saying The Dentist was Takis best friend but looking again I see now what it's actually saying. But anyways, I saw, too, where it mentioned he owned a nightclub,
1
@patpeters6331 Thanks! You, too!

If someone steals a dog, or finds a dog they want to keep, they are not interested in scanning the chip. Sometimes when someone finds a dog they keep it for awhile then turn it loose.

A lot of people call pet owners mom and/or dad.
