I don't know enough about DeSantis at this point to say I would vote for him for president since I'm not in Florida but I definitely would not vote for Trump. I am not a Biden supporter, either! From what I have observed DeSantis character, consistency, calmer but firm handling situations is much better than Trump's. I'm not trying to start any debates but just saying as an Independent how I see both of them. Don't forget many Republicans many times vote for the same as Dems. Outrageous increases in the Military Budget and The Patriot Act that took some of our freedoms away so I don't have much faith in either party. I didn't like Trump's veto of the Stop the war in Yemen Act that killed many innocent people. I can't know for sure but I wouldn't think DeSantis would had voted for The Patriot Act going by his firm stand against the Covid mandates. Depending how his record is on a few other things and if no one else ran for President that I like their record better if I would vote for him but I would think Republicans would want someone much more respected than Trump is and I do feel DeSantis does or at least should have that greater respect.

@ruthbaird8927 DeSantis has been great standing firm against all of those mandates. So, I would think you are right. I also would think if all the Republicans out there (not talking about politicians) really want to regain the presidency they would rally behind DeSantis because I would think that would get a lot more Independents in addition to Republicans to consider voting for him if he runs for president that is.
