After this i checked out (google earth) a town near where i grew up on called De Kalb Junction where the tracks are visible from "Mainstreet" (technically Mainstreet is US Route 11 and the tracks and 11 run sude by side for a while) and it resembles the T town plan in that the town is almost completely on 1 side of the tracks. Granted its also a tiny hamlet in upstate NY, but it is larger than the Hamlet of De Kalb for which it was named that sits on the river. Meaning the railroad and possibly Highway helped it out grow its namesake, even if the station apears to be long gone.
