@slumbercat some people just can't hear what others are saying. You, sir, are just reiterating the same NATO talking points without any regard for the Russian perspective. That's exactly what caused this war. And it's much bigger that supposed willingness or unwillingness of Ukrainians to see this or that army in the Ukraine. Oh, and the Ukraine is anything but "foreign land" for Russians.

@KarlBrau “independence” of newly created limitrophes is a myth for the simple ones. Dugin? My mate, as a Russian it always makes me laugh when Western people cite Dugin as a “court philosopher” if Putin. While Dugin is a fine philosopher, his political ideas are a poorly assembled mishmash of XIX-XX century traditionalists and Russian Eurasianists. And of course he is not anywhere close to Putin. Western obsession over Dugin could have been funny though if it hadn’t cost the life of his daughter, a brilliant philosopher girl who was killed by a Ukrainian hitman just for being Dugin’s family.

@supernovaaust except it was before the anti-Russian coup in the Ukraine orchestrated by the US

@KarlBrau have you hit your head on something? Who said ANYTHING about Baltic states, Poland or Germany? They are NATO countries, and they don’t play half the role of the Ukraine in the history and culture of Russia.

@KarlBrau No, the Ukraine is NOT an “independent country”. “Independence” is a fable for the feeble minded. Dugin? Mate, I am Russian. It’s so hilarious when people cite Dugin as “Putin’s court philosopher”. Dugin is a fine philosopher, but his political conceptions are a tangle of poorly fit ideas of XIX-XX century traditionalists and Russian Eurasianists. And of course he is not anywhere near Putin. Btw, Western obsession with Dugin cost a live to his daughter, a brilliant girl who was killed by a Ukrainian hitman just for being Dugin’s family.

@KarlBrau oh, and to the notion that “Putin will go further”. Putin, my mate, is a cowardly man and a commonplace. He is no Hitler or Napoleon. He tried the hardest he could to avoid this war since 2014. When the peace talks (Minsk agreements) were staged by the Western leaders that from the very beginning had no intention of seeking for peace, but instead sought to buy time for the Ukraine to strengthen their army to “return” “their” territories. As for NATO, mate, don’t you remember that none other than Putin sought NATO membership for Russia which was just laughed off by NATO and the US leadership.
