@aldozilli1293 what’s wrong with Russia invading countries? Didn’t the US and European countries invade other countries too? Yes, the negativity towards Russia with Europeans is crazy. Russia did not attack the EU or anyone allied to the EU. If anything, Russia’s been more then friendly to Europe over the last decades, selling resources for cheap and ignoring numerous provocations from Baltic chihuahuas. It was actually a messed up move for Europe to spoil the relations with Russia at the expense of their own economies like that, and for no reason.

@compatriot852 when did Russia expand into YOU? Prussia was German, what do Baltics have to do with it? Lithuania seems perfectly fine with the part of Prussia it received from Russia, Poland too.

@Backfyre08 why would you even CARE if Russia is “democratic” or anything? Did Russia supply the gas as they said? Yes. Were they a reliable trade partner? Yes. Did they attack the EU, NATO or any their allies? No. So, what’s your problem? It’s an internal business of Russia.

@gregsmith6097 the heritage of Rome marks the beginning and the most glorious days of Europe. The heritage of the Enlightenment marks Europe’s downfall. I respect the US for your strong entrepreneurial spirit and expansionism. However, I believe Enlightenment ideas that had tremendous impact on the thought of the Founding Fathers are dragging you down. For Russia and other European powers liberal Enlightenment ideas were just a phase in their history, but for the US they became a major part of their very foundation.

@Backfyre08 nobody will “prevent future wars”. War is human nature. Your attempt at preventing all wars will result in an endless war, because your moralistic stance will not allow you to recognise the opponent’s interests and come to mutually beneficial solutions, since you see him as a “criminal” if not an “evil”, and you can’t make concessions with criminals or devils, can you. And since there always will be these “criminals” (see above - war is human nature), your crusade against them will also be endless. Example: If the Ukraine did not heed the UK emissars in March 2022, if it recognised the reality of being in an unwinnable war with a much stronger opponent and not entertained itself by imagining its on the edge of a fight with “the evil empire” and is thus a “champion of the free world”, the Ukraine would still keep de-facto pre-2022 borders, and even Crimea could be de-jure Ukrainian, “leased” to Russia. No hundreds of thousands dead, no severe depopulation with almost half of population leaving for Russia or the EU, no demolished infrastructure or razed economy. Now your root for the continuation of the war, even though it would just drag the unwinnable conflict for another several years and cost even more lives. If you were openly callous and Machiavellian and would just say “we are interested in containing Russia, and we don’t care about Ukrainians, so we are totally fine with Ukrainians pounding themselves to fine dust against Russian army as long as it keeps the latter where it is”, I would have much more respect for you moralistic types.

@lordpendragon4867 and it’s funny how you brought up murky intelligence reports extracted from captive Taliban operators (we would of course never imply that a prisoner could ever say what his jailer wants to hear), while the elephant in the room is the US openly sending to the Ukraine hundreds of billions of dollars worth of weapons with the sole purpose of killing Russians, training third party soldiers to kill Russians, and coordinating attacks that result in killed Russians.

@Gulogulo7387 that’s not entirely valid viewpoint. The US has over 200 years of history. It fought for its lands. The Ukraine has just appeared on the map in 1991. It never fought for “its” lands and received them as a gesture of goodwill from Russia (of course, back then it went without saying that this new country was supposed to be Russia’s closest ally). So if you lose 20% of lands given to you for free that you don’t really consider “yours” that much — now it all becomes a different story

@someguycalledcerberus9805 what changed? Russia is still ready to supply gas, still eager to do “business first”. It was not Russia but Germany and other European countries that cut ties with Russia in 2022, not the other way around. We never attacked the EU or NATO.

@Backfyre08 who cares about the “neutral democratic country”. Did they invade the US or its ally? No. So, you shouldn’t even care. It’s our territory, we are getting our historical lands back and correcting the historical error known as “the independent Ukraine”.

@prophetjesaja1638 it’s lies. Both sides committed war crimes, but their level is pretty tame compared to most other wars over the last decades. This war is unique for how few there’s been civilian casualties for a war of such scale.

@someguycalledcerberus9805 the EU can want whatever, it doesn’t have to do anything with the Ukraine not being an ally to the EU. Unlike Kazakhstan to the EU. Not to mention the EU does not have neither means nor reasons to attack Kazakhstan.

@ “rules-based order” is a hoax. Didn’t the EU first violate Russia’s sphere of interest by contributing to the violent coup in the Ukraine in 2014? Russia does not threaten the EU with anything. Quite the contrary, European politicians openly admit they are preparing to invade Russia
