@Gaby-rs2uk today’s Russia has nothing to do with 1940s Germany. To build your entire worldview on a past conflict is a mistake, life is more complicated.

@Gaby-rs2uk I am a Russian and I temporarily live in Western Europe. If I tell you only certain aspects of living here, you can well think I live in a genuine totalitarian state… or a complete anarchy if I tell you other aspects. Now add here a well-known Russian habit of complaining about their country to foreigners (yet getting offended when the foreigner agrees) and severe radicalisation of both “liberal” and “patriotic” Russians after the beginning of the war. To me, the picture is crystal clear. Again, irrelevant of the “feel” or specifics, modern Russia just doesn’t qualify for a totalitarian regime. Not everything that is not liberal democracy is one.
