  1.  @moggadah  as a Russian “Westerner” who has been very much anti-Putin for over 10 years, I would very much appreciate if Western countries, particularly NATO (for I don’t believe there exist a homogeneous “West”), would not behave like an enemy. Many steps, actions and statements of NATO countries, including since before 2022 and even before 2014, were absolutely unacceptable attacks on Russia, Russian people and Russian interests. I am sorry, kind sir, but I don’t believe in international cooperation or the “better future” for everyone. Putin or no Putin, Russia still has national interests like every major state. When NATO first rejects not one but two attempts by Russia to join the Alliance, all while accepting more and more Eastern European countries despite the promises and raises the number of military bases, including missile defence systems, in the vicinity of Russian borders, it’s very hard to sell the organisation as non-hostile towards Russia.

  2.  @robertrussell263  no, it doesn’t. You comment shows how little Americans understand modern Russia. Said that two great nations have such a fallout over pretty much nothing.
