Friction is everywhere, there is no place in this universe where friction isn't, not even space, light is friction material, hence why we can't measure the speed of light to a common denomination, or a 'constant'. When you hear the term 'Light year' it is just a approximate, it is not possible to measure light speed, to do so we would have travel faster. There is no way to tell light travels one way or the other at the same speed.
