Hiked from the base where you catch a cable car up to Kuranda at the top, was so amazing, it's a whole other world, picked up a paralysis tick and didn't find it until I was home in Perth, Chiro found it on my back, I dare say that is why I had the back complaint, so lesson learned, get checked all over, the scenery, the local coffee, the bird sanctuary and gardens are all top notch, another cable car takes you over the giant Barron Falls waterfall. Along the roadside in places you will notice holes in the side of the banks, they are funnel web spider nests, wish I had gone to that beach. Might be cliche but it really feels like Jurassic Park, just without the velociraptors lol.
