  1. The prop is from Pitch Black, Vin Diesel movie. The bat is called a Flying Fox or Fruit Bat here, they are quite big compared to most other bats and are pretty harmless to us.

  3. 100% correct on extremes, it gets cold, but especially very hot, has its good side, flies mostly and a lot of spiders don't survive a heatwave, you know how bad our fly problem is. Jump in the pool, stay inside, go to the beach and tomorrow there will be no flies, for a little while anyway lol.
