Chinese government is reviving the "Mandate of Heaven" doctrine, where a competent leader is allowed to stay in power, to maximise the benefits to China, while an incompetent leader will result in rebellion to topple the dynasty, as part of Heaven's decree. Although ancient, this doctrine has guided China successfully for 5000 years of history.
