Comments by "神州 Shenzhou" (@Shenzhou.) on "Trump: 'I don't blame China' - BBC News" video.
A country does not become powerful overnight. A ballooning trade deficit takes time to grow to its current size today. Americans can't realistically blame Trump for America's problems today, when it has already been ongoing for years and Trump merely inherits problems from the past. A country's decline is gradual, not sudden, and it is unrealistic to assume a change in leadership can somehow fix everything. China's rejuvenation today is facilitated by leaders with foresight and long term planning for up to 30 years beyond and to address issues before they grow out of hand, different from American leaders, who plan short-term, only for the duration of their term (4-8 years) and then leave the burgeoning problems for the next leader.

+blazednlovinit Chinese workers make products like smartphones, computers, electronics, appliances, clothing, toys, sneakers cheap, so that the cost of living in other countries is kept to minimum. Think of the billions of dollars other people have saved on living expenses over the years thanks to access to affordable Chinese goods. If it weren't for Chinese goods in foreign markets, there will be inflation and people's daily expenses would be much higher than it is today..

China is 3rd country in world to send people into space, besides USA and Russia, during the Shenzhou missions. In 2013, China landed our very own lunar rover and spacecraft, Chang'E-3, making it the first soft landing on the Moon after nearly 40 years of neglect by NASA. The Chinese government hopes to one day put a man on the Moon like USA, as well as to be the first to land on the dark side of the Moon.

America's problems didn't just appeared overnight, and you can't just blame Trump for inheriting problems created by previous US presidents. A ballooning trade deficit takes time to grow to its current size today, and previous POTUS have refused to address the issue before it grows out of hand, because their leadership is short-term and they only plan for 4-8 years and leave the biggest problems for the next election to fix. On the other hand, China's leadership is expected to remain in long term, so they plan for the future, up to 30 years ahead, and address issues quickly before they grow out of hand.

blazednlovinit Money also goes back to other countries in other ways. Chinese tourists visit other countries to spend money on shopping, often buying expensive foreign branded goods like Rolex, Louis Vutton, etc which are big in China compared to local brands. Apple iPhone is still more prestigious than Chinese brands like Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, etc. (Oppo was named because it sounds similar to Apple to Chinese people) So foreign companies have also benefited from entering Chinese markets.

blazednlovinit It is no secret that Western countries enjoy exceptional number of privileges and often have extremely high taxes as result as compared to other countries. Also, it is generally difficult to retract a freedom right, once it has been granted by the government. For example, in USA they are experiencing trouble with the amendment that grants US citizens the right to bear firearms. Americans are unwilling to give up their rights to guns and because of this, crimes like robbery are much easier to commit in USA. It's more common to encounter robbers with guns in USA and it makes the job of enforcement much more difficult and risky. In the same way, the Chinese government is reluctant to grant more rights than necessary as it will be much more difficult to retract them afterwards. Already, Chinese workers are receiving somewhat higher wages than previously and Chinese goods are facing competition from other low labour cost countries like Vietnam and India.

blazednlovinit Then how do you propose to solve the problem then? Are Americans willing to work for same low wage as Chinese? Otherwise this trade deficit that you keep on mentioning for past few comments will still continue to grow in future.

blazednlovinit Many countries have often threatened to impose sanctions on Chinese goods entering their country or to even boycott Chinese goods entirely. But in the end, demand for Chinese goods remains high and nobody's government follow through with implementing said sanctions. The money people have saved on living expenses thanks to Chinese goods can go towards buying more expensive local products like housing, cars, and other luxury products made locally, so it is not as though that buying Chinese goods means that they automatically don't spend on local goods and services.
