After WW2, there should be no more wars, but USA and Soviet Union had their "cold wars" and fought proxy wars in Vietnam and Korea. After Soviet Union dissolution, there should be no more wars, but USA got involved in Gulf War, Iraq War, Afghan War, Libyan war, even till 21st century.

+Justin Watson Exactly what are you talking about? When did I talk about Iraq, Libya or Afghanistan here at all? All I did was ask why are you being so rude and when did I say anything about Chinese being ungrateful at all here, so how are these little tricky questions?

USA did not defeat North Vietnamese, and neither did they defeat North Korea entirely. Even today in 21st century, USA has been involved in wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, etc for over 15 years, without an end in sight. The soldier's kids back home, could grow up into adults in this time period and the war is still not truly won in the Middle East.

Justin Watson If the USA is so militarily advanced, then why did it lose the Vietnam War? Why did USA not defeat North Korea during the Korean War? Even during modern times, USA is still fighting wars in Middle East such as Afghan War, Iraq War, Libyan War, spanning 15 years with no end in sight? Why not America crush its enemies hands down like Shar L said, instead of prolonging the war for so long?

China spent 13 years, but managed to churn out an aircraft carrier to show for our efforts. What about in the video (at 0:22 ) where USA spent over 12 years developing the railgun, but it may never leave the testing facility at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Virginia? Which of these two countries has atrophied here?
2
theylied1776 Westerners had aircraft carrier technology since WW2, whereas China had none before, but managed to compress generations of aircraft carrier technology into span of few years to catch up with the West and produce our first aircraft carrier.

Justin Watson Your mindset is probably similar to those US soldiers who enlisted in the military back during the Iraq War, Afghan War, etc, thinking that USA's military might will make short work of the enemy. But fastforward 15 years later, and the war is still not won, and the soldiers' kids back home have probably grown up in that time frame.

theylied1776 What's the point of having US engineers, if the railgun never left the testing facility, even after more than 12 years of research? As for the Chengdu J-20, Chinese engineers have developed a domestic turbofan engine, the WS-15, specifically for use in replacing Russian engines in the J-20.

theylied1776 The rocket was ancient Chinese invention, not American. What about Americans using Chinese inventions like paper, compass and gunpowder then? Chinese people don't complain about Westerners using Chinese inventions.
1
theylied1776 The rocket was used in Song dynasty China and much historical evidence supports that it was invented in China.

theylied1776 An illustration and description in the 14th century Chinese Huolongjing by Jiao Yu shows the oldest known multistage rocket. This was the 'fire-dragon issuing from the water' (火龙出水, huǒ lóng chū shuǐ), used mostly by the Chinese navy.

theylied1776 Also, back in your original post, you talk about how China took 13 years, but the result was an aircraft carrier that made a maiden voyage into the ocean. What about USA spending over 12 years (from 0:28 of the video) developing the railgun, but it hasn't yet managed to mount a railgun on a naval vessel?
1
Justin Watson Why are you being so rude here? When did I say anything about Chinese being ungrateful at all here? All I did was highlight that USA hasn't gone anywhere with the railgun, even after more than 12 years.

Actually not millions, not billions, but trillions of dollars. The F35 program is world's most expensive military program, costing about 1.45 trillion dollars of taxpayers money. Just for comparison, China owns about 1.2 trillion dollars of US debt as of 2017.
1
JustinWatson Even Donald Trump criticised the insane costs of the Lockheed Martin F-35 program, claiming that it was out of control didn't he? As for China, the PLA Air Force has inducted the Chengdu J-20 into service and is not stopping there, and beginning work on a new 6th generation fighter. Why do you accuse me of lying, and even told me to "shut my dirty Chinese mouth", calling me some rich little kid that wanna talk bad and bite the hands that fed me. When did I ever made any personal attacks against you at all?
1
Justin Watson Which country has USA actually conquered then? Iraq? Afghanistan? Vietnam? Korea?
1
LesterTheMolestor Why are you being so rude here? All you seem to do is redirect blame at other things like ROE for America's military failures. Doesn't change the fact that America did not win in Vietnam or defeat North Korea in Korean war. And how much oil did America actually take from the Middle East through those wars with them?
