The US is much accustomed to strangling the economies of other countries, now they are finally getting a taste of their own medicine and having their economy strangled in the Red Sea.

Like Russia, the Houthis in the Red Sea are also waging a strategic war of attrition, forcing their opponent to expend their expensive munitions and missiles, and making the conflict too costly for their opponents to continue.

Singapore and India were both former British colonies, so their people tend to have the colonial mentality. Colonial mentality is the internalized perception of ethnic or cultural inferiority felt by people as a result of colonization, and such mindset may persist in the local people's mind long after the colonizers left.

Ukraine was once the center of media attention, but after Oct 7 2023, that focus has shifted to Palestine. Hopefully the people of Taiwan are taking notes not to follow in Ukraine's footsteps.

Not when Australian journalist Julian Assange is still rotting away in jail. Free him and return him to his wife and kids.

@KlKl-k4x American "protection" in Singapore is basically allowing the island to be used as a unsinkable aircraft carrier (like what Pepe Escobar said). The US 7th Fleet is based in Singapore, and they use Singapore as a launch point to send aircraft carriers to the South China Sea.

@johnstuartsmith Lawn-mower-engined drones are cheap to produce compared to missiles. The Houthis' strategy is to wage a war of attrition, forcing their opponent to expend their expensive missiles and making the conflict too costly for them to continue.

Just a simple suggestion to improve the title, instead of using Putin (country's leader) and China (country) in the title, it might be better to use either "Putin and Xi" (both countries' leaders) or "Russia and China" (both countries) or perhaps even "Moscow and Beijing" (both countries' capitals) to appear more professional.

@dennykeaton9701 You said: "It's actually affecting the EU and China the most." Chinese and Russian vessels will have safe passage through the Red Sea according to Houthi political leader, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti.

@yaoliang1580 Corruption does exist in Singapore, look at the recent case with their transport minister Iswaran.

@KlKl-k4x "Shenzhou. The US 7th Fleet is based in Yokosuka, Japan. " My bad, it's actually Task Force 73 of the US 7th Fleet that's based in Singapore. Unlike other overseas US military bases, there is no official US "Naval Base" in Singapore but is rather ambiguously called a military "place" – largely due to political reasons such Singapore's status as a neutral country. But it doesn't disguise the fact that Singapore is a US ally through and through.

@tjallingdalheuvel126 The colonizers not only colonized lands, but they also colonized the local people's minds, through cultural interaction and education systems. Even after the colonizer left, the local people's minds remain enslaved and loyal to their former masters. This is the essence of the colonial mentality that continues to affect people living in the former colonies.

Houthis are waging a war of attrition just like Russia.

@yaoliang1580 So since corruption exists in every country (including Singapore with transport minister Iswaran's case) why are you deliberately singling out Philippines and India as "shining examples of corruption, cronyism and nepotism"? You think Singapore doesn't have those as well? Singapore's current Prime Minister is the son of Singapore's first PM Lee Kuan Yew right?

This is the essence of the colonial mentality that continues to influence non-white people's decisions even till today.

@yaoliang1580 "You must be living in lala land" I've pointed out that corruption exists even in Singapore (as with the Iswaran case) but you just ignored it then aren't you the one that's divorced from reality? Why is it you can make such derogatory remarks about India and Philippines (calling them "shining examples of corruption, cronyism n nepotism") but you get so angry when I point out an actual case of corruption in Singapore? It's like you refuse to accept reality at all.

@Ezekiel903 Don't worry, according to you Egypt still have 2/3 of their GDP left if they want to help Palestine. Also, Egyptian aid often gets delayed or refused entry by IDF at the checkpoint into Gaza, whereas the effect on the Red Sea is piling up pressure for a ceasefire in Gaza.

@100c0c "Shenzhou. Most companies are rerouting even if they're excluded. Insurance reasons." Get those companies to register their cargo with Russian vessels or Chinese vessels passing through the Red Sea.
