China has ambitious long-term projects, like 10-20 year plans to be largest economy in 2020, superpower by 2030, etc. These plans can't be achieved if the leader suddenly steps down after his term, and the next leader suddenly abolishes the plans, such as ongoing Belt and Road Initiative.
For example, when Trump came to power, he abolished Obama's Trans Pacific Partnership, which been in the making for 8 years, simply because Trump don't like Obama (Obama humiliated Trump with his birth certificate) and all those taxpayers money invested in TPP suddenly went down the drain. In my opinion, China should avoid such similar scenario in our policies.

李昊洋 You think kids in democratic countries don't put their lives at risk too? Look at United States for example, where American soldiers are fighting and dying in foreign soil, such as during Gulf War, Afghan War, Iraq War, Libyan War, etc, even in the 21st century. China is currently at peace and not a war with other country, since our last major war in 1979, 30 years ago. If my kids have to someday fight and risk their lives, then why not fight for the country, instead for other country's sake and dying on foreign soil, like the US wars in Middle East? So why are you claiming my logic is stupid, when everything I said draws upon actual historical facts?
You are entitled to your own opinion if you want democracy, but does that mean you can label other form of governments as "stupid"? Modern Western liberal democracy has only about 200-300 years of history, whereas China has survived 5000 years of history without democracy, so it sees no need to implement democracy. Nobody said democracy is the best form of government, and China is living proof of a successful alternative form of government.
Are you sure you studied history for 10 years? Many historical societies had political power concentrated in the hands of an elite few, such as nobles (aristocracy) or priests (theocracy) or kings and emperors (monarchy) and so on.

李昊洋 You keep asking about China's death tolls, but in the end, China is still the most populous nation on Earth, even with One-Child-Policy, so what exactly is your point, if you keep on labeling my points as "stupid"? Like I said, you are entitled to your own opinion, but it does that mean you should call other point of views "stupid"? Which of my points do you think is "stupid" you tell me?
Mao Zedong is only human, and made mistakes like one. The CPC has publicly acknowledged the failure of his domestic policies and even Mao made a self-criticism and stepped down from being state Chairman. Why are you so obsessed with Mao? You clearly said previously that you support President Xi and believe he is doing a good job, so why do you believe he will become Mao? You think President Xi doesn't learn from Mao's mistakes and not to repeat them?
You keep claiming my points are stupid, then why don't you explain exactly how are they stupid? Historically, political power is held by a few people, such as nobles, priests, kinds, etc, because such people are educated and politically savvy enough to make important decisions regarding the country. You said you study History for 10 years, but exactly what have you learnt from history then? I made my own points, and if you think them "stupid" then why don't you present some opinions of your own?

Gotham1984 There have only been 100 or so Tibetans self-immolating themselves since 2009. Why don't you look at India, where as many as 1,451 and 1,584 self-immolations have been reported in 2000 and 2001, respectively? You mean because 100 Tibetans self-immolate, then entire population of 3,000,000 people in Tibet, must give in to their demands?
What makes you think Uighur Muslims aren't allowed to have beards? Here is a video about a Canadian guy (The Food Ranger) visiting Kashgar in Xinjiang and you can see many of the Uighur men sporting beards. Video:Muslim Street Food in China youtube.com/watch?v=c1x19gySa-s
Falun Gong was only formed in 1994 (25 years ago) by Li Hongzhi, who was a charismatic figure that led people to believe he was a god and could cure cancer. His followers who had early stage cancer, refused to seek actual medical treatment and instead donated their savings to him, in hopes of curing their disease. Its more like a cult than an actual religion. It hijacked existing practices from Qigong, Taoism and Buddhist philosophies and then claims to be a religion when all those other practices have thousands of years of history, compared to Falun Gong's 25 years.
Rohingya Crisis is because of Myanmar/Burma government, yet you want to pin the blame on China?
And China is only doing business in those countries. In world of business, not all business transactions will result in profit, but the point remains that nobody force those countries to do business with China if they don't want to. They can always choose to break off business with China, and nobody going to stop them. China has built much infrastructure in countries like Pakistan, Kazakhstan, other -stan countries, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives, and also in African countries like Kenya, Angola, Djibouti, Nigeria, etc.
And China is not at war other countries currently, like what USA is doing in Middle East. Why not USA spend money investing in Middle East, instead of waging war?
