@roluevasreisa5730 Agreed. Simu Liu is dishonoring other (dare I say) much better Asian male actors before him, like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Chow Yun Fatt, among others. He's acting like the Asian pioneers of Hollywood don't exist, that Simu Liu considers himself the first Asian pioneer.

Agreed. Actors are just actors after all, they aren't qualified politicians, political commentators, political analysts, or other such experts. They may lack the political knowledge, but they wield significant influence over their fan bases, what words come out of their mouths may be taken as gospel by their followers. Maybe (just maybe) America needs to take a page out of the Chinese government crackdown in the entertainment industry.

What exactly is China doing to protestors and anyone who isn't an Ethnic Han Chinese? Ethnic minorities in China like Tibetans, Uighurs, aren't subject to the 1-Child Policy (unlike Han) so they can have as many kids as they want. Ethnic minorities also enjoy several privileges over Han, such as tax exemptions, free education for up to 15 years, priority in healthcare, special bursaries and education admission advantages. For example, if applying for university course, if a Han candidate needs say 500 points to qualify, then ethnic minority only needs 300 points (easier to qualify) for the exact same course.

@leepalmer9558 What sterilisation of Uighurs? The population of Uighurs in China from 1953 to 2010 actually tripled in size from 3 million to 10 million Uighurs. That's because Uighurs aren't subject to the One Child Policy (unlike Han) so they can have as many kids as they want. Uighurs in Xinjiang are Chinese citizens by birth, and they are learn Mandarin Chinese (the national language of China) at school, Chinese history and cultivate patriotism towards their homeland, China. Just like the Hawaiins in Hawaii are American citizens by birth and they learn English at school, American history and cultivate patriotism towards their homeland, America. Have you actually been to Xinjiang and see what life is like there for yourself?

@leepalmer9558 The population of Uighurs in China actually increased from 10 million in 2010 to 12.8 million in 2018, so what concentration camps are you talking about? What examples of first hand accounts are you talking about? People have visited Xinjiang, just take British-Australian Jerry Grey, who has traveled to Xinjiang five times and bicycled across several provinces of China and he did not see any concentration camps, so what are you talking about?

I don't think communism is to blame here. Marvel/Disney/Hollywood are basically corporations that are driven by capitalism to cater to China's government in order to turn a profit, so shouldn't it be capitalism that's to blame here, not communism?

Agreed. Actors are just actors after all, not politicians, political commentators, analysts, experts. They may lack political awareness of the state the country is in, but they wield powerful influence over their fan base, and the words coming out of their mouths are treated as gospel by their fan base.

@Joshua_N-A It's actually a good idea to have the PLA loyal to the communist party. Because in Asia, there have been military coups (i.e. in Thailand and more recently Myanmar) where the military overthrew the government and seize political control, plunging the country into chaos and civil strife in the process. By ensuring PLA remains loyal to the party, the Chinese government is ensuring continued peace in China.

@MichaelPhillips-jw4bj John Boyega was shrunk in Star Wars posters in China to make way for the cool Sci-fi starships (which were enlarged/given more prominence in the posters) because these are what that will potentially attract Chinese audience to watch the movie.

@jspringer86 Where is Taiwan's formal declaration of independence? Who signed it and when was it signed? If not, then by default, Taiwan is part of China under their own constitution.

@Leonardo Pereira How am I brainwashed? Have you read Taiwan's own constitution? It says that Taiwan is part of China, and since there hasn't been any amendments to Taiwan's constitution, then by default, Taiwan is part of China under their own constitution. John Cena made a mistake on TV and he regretted it and actually apologised for his mistake (in Mandarin no less)
