If the leader has shown to be capable and competent, then I see no problem with leaving him in power for a while longer, to maximise the benefits to China.

Good leaders are extremely hard to come by, especially one that is willing to tackle the enormous task of cracking down on corruption within the government, so why would it mean DEATH simply because a good one is found?

During his presidential campaign, Donald Trump promised to release his tax details if he became president. Now that he's POTUS, why hasn't he uphold on his campaign promise to release his tax details? Is it because of corruption in US government?

Why suddenly resort to hurling racial slurs here?

Why can't constitutions be changed or amended for the better? Do you want constitutions to remain static and stagnant forever? Look at USA and what changes have been made over the years? Americans civilians are still allowed to carry guns, resulting in mass school shootings every now and then, so why aren't stricter gun laws implemented instead?

If the leader has proven to be capable of leading the country, why not leave him in power longer, to maximise the benefits to China?

Through this process, the government is actually reviving the "Mandate of Heaven" used by Chinese dynasties in the past, where a competent ruler is allowed to remain in power to maximise the benefits to China during his reign. An incompetent ruler will eventually be ousted by a peasant rebellion, as if by Heaven's will. This "Mandate of Heaven" may seem outdated at a glance, but it has successfully guided Imperial China throughout 4000-5000 years of history, so there is bound to be merits to pursuing this form of governance in China again.

gt hya This "Mandate of Heaven" has served China for 5000 years, making China one of the world's oldest "continuous" civilization still alive today, whereas other great ancient civilizations like Rome and Egypt have since faded to history. What makes you think that the Imperial System is unsuccessful, when it has survived for so long, where other forms of government didn't?
