The ex-husband could bear it no longer, took another glance at the poor treatment of the children, and rushed over in defense of his two children, so the ex husband and wife started fighting. Now, the village chief and his many wives are cheering on Ukraine from the sidelines, yet none of them are willing to lift an actual finger and partake in the fighting themselves. Ukraine is unlikely to marry into the NATO family, because that would mean that the village chief and his many wives would be obliged to join the fight against the ex-husband. ... Hopefully this analogy taken off Weibo helps puts the Russo-Ukraine conflict into perspective and on a more relatable level.

  6. It turns out that those apartments in Shanghai Zhangjiang district were low-cost apartments provided by the government to the tenants. In the agreement, the government has the right to seize back those property in times of emergency (with proper compensation given to tenants) and the tenants signed the agreement knowingly. The government offered 2-3 months compensation to those affected, but some of them demanded up to half a year's compensation which the government did not agree.

  7.  @Balconetti  I'm glad that you've understood my analogy and agreed that the wife has to protect her security interests. Likewise, Russia has to protect its security interests and Putin had asked for reassurances that NATO would not expand eastward (i.e that Ukraine will not be allowed to join NATO). In fact, many NATO countries themselves are reluctant to admit Ukraine into NATO such as Germany and France, yet they were unwilling to put that down in writting to reassure Putin. After realising that Putin's words had fallen on deaf ears for years, Putin finally decided to act.

  9. Alexander Mercouris has stated many times that he is not a military expert, and that there's no way to corroborate the actual conditions on ground, but his assessment is based on sources that he fundamentally trust, whereas the Western MSM is taking info from the Ukrainian military's side.
