Enoch didn't make it hard to discuss migration sensibly, it was the hysterical response in the media to his speech that did that.

True, but, in general terms, he covered this when he talked about the moves emerging to prevent integration in UK life: "now we are seeing a growth of positive forces acting against integration, of vested interests in the preservation and sharpening of racial and religious differences..." and then goes on to quote John Stonehouse's speech which uses Sikhs as an example, but we see the exact same thing with Islam in the UK. He would be shocked by the identity politics we see now.

Please get the quite correct, he never said the River Thames. He was quoting Virgil's Aeneid book 6, where the prophetess states "war, horrible war, and I see the Tiber foaming with much blood" The River Tiber, not Thames.

@kreek22 because that is what the prophetess in the Aeneid said... had she said "wars, horrible wars, I see the mountain tops bestrewn with blood and corpses" he would have said that instead. He was using the image of a prophet foreseeing bad things rather than a riverine image per se.
