With such catastrophic predictions from implementing the changes required for net zero, one might think that we would double check the net zero climate science and have a free and open discussion without censorship....because look what happened at Twitter over Covid and lockdown....

@altoseb I think they are saying that British migration to Indian subcontinent was simply economic migration and not colonialism...so his reframing of events has some plus points, we can drop the "colonialism is bad" stuff.... just part and parcel of living in a modern world with mass migration....🤣

When is Sachin Tendulkar going to speak out about the racial abuse he suffered, it must have been much worse when he played for Yorkshire.

@PSG81 That's my point. This issue is not one of racism, it is a culture clash.

@As-qz5lr that might have had a rolentonplay, don't deny it. But they had a very young Sachin, not the "master" he became. Still think it is culture more than race....and status has some role to play in that.

Perhaps we can live in a multi-coloured, post racial world but maybe we can't live, at least in close knit groups like team dressing rooms, in a multi-cultural world. I think his experience, awful as it was, was not just about the colour of his skin, but the cultural background he comes from. Certain mono-cultures in the multi-cultural "salad bowl" (as opposed to "melting pot") just do not mix well, oil and water. I think this might explain why Monte Panesar hasn't experienced racial slurs, but Azeem Rafiq did - both have brown skin but different cultures and different levels of assimilation into UK life. One of the errors people make is seeing skin colour and assuming they all have the same experiences. Look at the % Grades A to C results in maths and English at GCSE for different subgroups of people who self-identify as Asian. Indian and "other asian" do significantly better than students who identify as Bangladeshi or Pakistani. Search "GCSE results by ethnicity". It just isn't as easy as saying cricket is racist...
