  1. Beavers are a real problem in the Adirondacks. They not only change the ecosystem but bring Giardiasis, “beaver fever” too. It spreads through contaminated water or food. When I hike in the Adirondacks I bring purification pills to drop in my water containers. It take 4 hours to be 100% safe so I use three containers at different stages. Yeah they are cute little guys but can be very destructive too. When they flood an area they also end up killing non-aquatic plants and trees.
